Slamman
No one who delves into GTA mods is wasting their time, that's a sad statement to even consider, these are people who see hidden potential in the game and could go on to develop professionally me thinks
ZZCOOL
R* can't be against modding because they're awesome, fun and even improve the game (a little bit). But there're some mods that f*cked up the game. I don't know if you guys know this mod, but I have Gta sa extreme edition 2011 mod (for gta sa if you didn't noticed it). And it's a great mod but it f*cked up my sa. Sometimes, things (I mean EVERYTHING) spawns too late. So you're driving your lamborgini in....just nothing. Sometimes....the game crashes. It just crashes without any reason. And there're more stupid bugs like that but I said enough. So I hope R* 'll support the gtaV modding community to make awesome mods that don't f*ck up the game. They know people are still buying gta sa just for the mods so why should they be against mods mods that only work in multiplayer if EVERYONE uses mods and mods that changes single player those are the mods that don't hurt anyone due to mods i am still addicted to iv to this day i still mod it frequently the rage engine is unlike any other engine i have ever seen so much potential
Mokrie Dela
No one who delves into GTA mods is wasting their time, that's a sad statement to even consider, these are people who see hidden potential in the game and could go on to develop professionally me thinks and there we go, slamman. It's like playing Saints row (don't shoot me) as a guy, then replaying it as a woman. Or car modification - not the chavvy kind, the sensical tuning and what have you. You buy a good car - and it's a good car - but by modding it you unlock further potential. Example, i played GTA III ten years ago and recently reinstalled it, grabbed the SNOW mod, and it's a different experiance (handling's also snowy). Is the game itself really changed? No, it's just tailored into a fresh experiance. So is it sad or pointless to use or make mods? It's just an extension of the game - and everyone on this forum is a gamer. - someone who spends hours gaming - a hobby that has no real constructive purpose. Also there was a guy once, who liked electrical devices, but they were all to expensive. He got one, and took it apart, then built his own on a kitchen table. That led to him selling it, then more, now his company earns billions, and is a big name in electronic goods (berringer). The same applies to modders. Who's to say that todays modders arent tomorrow's game coders? They certainly have the skills. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. They just added to much mods in one single mod.
SGT. Johnson
*Sigh* I knew this conversation would come up at one point. So, modding is wrong? Players shouldn't be able to mod their games? Bobbycock! and Bullocks! Modding brings new expereinces to a game that may or may not suit your needs already. There is no real "evil" to modding. Whoever thinks that should have their eyeballs gauged out and hot rocks placed on their backs, burning the flesh! The only REAL problem as far as modding is ONLINE MULTIPLAYER FOR COMPETITIVE PURPOSES! If you use mods in a public Free Mode, with nothing but the sole intention to RAPE everyone, you are a NOOB, fa**ot, and giving other modders a bad name! If you are using mods for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Cops N Crooks, or any other mode that is deemed competitive, GO KILL YOURSELF because you cannot play a simple game like GTA! EDIT: Um, whoever said that "I bought the game; I can do what I want with the files!" That may be true to an extent. What you do in SP is up to you. Morally and consciously, you are doing no harm. However, when you go into OFFICIAL XBL MULTIPLAYER for any game, you are under a SERVICE! This is that little section of the TERMS OF SERVICE they made you read (oh yeah, you didn't most likely). If you use modded content under the TERMS OF SERVICE, Microsoft has the right to ban your account and your console because it is a violation of their Terms of the Xbox Live Service. Although you own a physical copy of the game, you do not own the ACTUAL FILES of the game! Not only that, you do not OWN XBL either! Edited January 3, 2012 by SGT. BGModder
Bethesda's been pwning them in this field. They also had the balls to include decapitations in their newest game.
