MrcTOtheJ
The thing I like from that patent thing is "Hat's and Caps" where do I get one? Anyhow I'm sure that it's going to be a current gen game, it looks better than GTAIV and RDR, but not that much better and why would Rockstar dev for a consol that's not even announced yet? They don't know if it'll be successful or not, and it'll take time for people to get the console, so all in all it'd be less money in Rockstar/Take Two's pocket. If the next gen of consoles dose release a short time after V comes out (I’m betting that V comes out late this year and the next gen some time in 2013/14) then they might port it to the next gen with some upgraded graphics to boot, mainly to old people off for VI, but that’s ages from now and in all honesty, none of us know anything right now. Algonquin Assassin
Imagine the backlash R* would recieve if it was a next gen game when people expect it to be on 360 and PS3. Especially when pre-orders are already being taken. I don't mind a 2013 release if need be, but I'm not willing to fork out $1000 AUD for a next gen console just to play GTA V. In time I would, but not for GTA V's release. It would be foolish. If GTA V appears next gen it'll be a port like Bully: Scholarship Edition IMO with its initial release on 360 and PS3. Initial release will be on this gen, and then some special edition with what ever DLC that was on the PS3/360 version will be released on the PS4/720 just with new slightly updated graphics. That would be a waste of time and money I'm by no means a professional voice when it comes to game development. But I'm sure it wouldn't take much for them to release a slightly updated port of a game. If anything it'd give them a leg up to get a next gen game out rather early besides all the in house exclusives that fill up most console libraries shortly after release. In saying that Bully was only released for 360 and Wii after being a PS2 exclusive for a couple of years. If the next gen consoles are backwards compatible it may seem a bit pointless for the sake of polished graphics. I could only see R* doing this if GTA V is a poor seller which is simply not going to happen.

Never mind then looking back it dose seem a bit pointless now if they will be. Which is likely the case unless Sony dose what they did with the Ps3's PS2 backwards compatibility (as in it's there at relase but is removed from the 2nd generation of said console), but I don’t see that happening unless one of the consoles have some rather spotty backwards compatibility.
