T3 No way is it going to be next-gen. Firstly, from the trailer we can see it looks nicer than GTA IV, but not that much nicer. Secondly, a next-gen console would have a tiny install-base to start with. The game wouldn't make enough money to pay for itself. I read somewhere not too long ago the WiiU was being showcased at CES, but I'm not too sure when CES is this year.It's also possible they could be waiting for the Vita release next month. I'm not one to understand technical specs, but based on what I've seen and heard about this handheld, it looks as if it could handle a watered down version of V. The thing is though, would Rockstar choose to do something like that? I'd personally prefer that they do the usual approach and release V on all major console platforms and then later on release a side-game for the handhelds. There's no way Vita could handle GTA V, even with lowered graphics, physics would be too much for a handheld device. Although I agree the possibily GTA V released on WiiU. I mean why not? People would buy it, so more sales more money. Vita has way more graphical and 'physics' capabilities than anything Nintendo have on the market now or upcoming. Expect the next gen consoles for GTA V. 360, PS3 and also PC. Expect something along the lines of Chinatown Wars for Vita and anything Nintendo. WiiU gonna be more powerful than x360 and ps3. Waiting for a console to come out for a game already announced is bad idea, specially if there is a lot of people already waiting and if it doesn't come for a system they currently own it will take long time to sell so much hardware. Basically there are millions of Xbox and millions of PS3 ... that money is granted, a new console would be a few only at start, would need 1 or 2 years to have some decent numbers. As for Wii U... I don't believe there will be a GTA on it ... it's not their style or their costumers style. The trailer was directly rendered from a PC or a PC did the rendering of the elements, thats why it looks so good or maybe they changed their coding method and fixed the "memory leaks" that made it so bad either consoles or PC's. Either it was captured from a console and then "cleaned up" on a PC, or they actually made the graphics that much better. Take a look at GTA IV to Max Payne 3. The difference is there. Imagine this like if Ferrari had a new car model coming out and people was waiting for another more powerful, if they said Ok here is our brand new XXXX and the version you waiting for for so long will be out in 2 months... how do you the people that could afford one or other would react? T3 It won't be. It can't. Why would Rockstar waste money developing for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PS4 when they're not guaranteed a successful PS4 launch? Also, if it was indeed for the PS4, there would have to be some leak about a Devkit (that "article" was just rumors with some concepts slapped up in a 3D program) Rockstar wouldn't be the only developer working on a launch title for the PS4. Just to make sure, you do know the Vita has MORE RAM than a PS3 and the Xbox 360 right? 640MB compared to 512MB, also the Vita uses Flash based memory, so unlike the PS3 and Xbox 360 which rely on Disc Speed, the Vita's cards are Class 10 Speed based and can go up to 16GB (possible 32GB with Firmware upgrade) which straight away put's it ahead of the Xbox 360's limit of 8.5GB. The only downgrade would actually be the graphics, but physics, no, the Vita should be able to handle them fine. It's an expensive little bit of kit, but do know the Vita packs a punch power wise, with the right development studio behind it, it could easily have a GTA game like GTA IV with just downgraded graphics, but physics, content, etc, would be fine and ready to go on the Vita with minor tweaking. Jabalous Posted January 3, 2012 Share Posted January 3, 2012 Not announcing which platforms GTA V will land on, is probably because Rockstar doesn't want to give more than the trailer in the current time. Another probability could be because they want to see how the reactions toward the technical side of the trailer will be, the visuals in particular. Many still can't believe that the footage is running in real time on a current generation console, PS3 or Xbox 360, which led them to suggest that it's a next-gen game. While this is surely nonsense, it really shows how GTA V really looks far better than GTA IV visually, otherwise no one would have been in a state of disbelief. It is out, in JAPAN! Anyway, the Magazines featuring GTA V are out on the stands, Looked them over on the news-stands this weekend. GUESS WHAT???!! Electronic Gaming Monthly is the FIRST ONE to go with a full cover for "V", and guess what as well???? No major article, just a breakdown of the trailer, I saw at least two of these in the gaming magazines out on stands now. Several editors weighed in on the trailer, offering their thoughts so far. And what more can you expect until there's an interview being offered up? But we havn´t got any news about the plattforms and the release date. They haven't decided if PS3 or PC should get GTA V first, and I bet, behind the scenes, they are requesting a KING'S RANSOM be paid to release exclusively! To the highest bidder Cue Zee! It will probably be a simontaneous release, it always is. If not it out of PS3 and PC it will be PS3 they all give PC that little extra bit of time. All of R*'s games are captured from a console. All trailers, from GTA III to San Andreas were captured on PS2. VCS and LCS were captured on PSP, and then re-captured on PS2 for the re-release. GTA IV trailers were captured from a 360, RDR's trailers were captured, for the most part anyway, on a 360, and LA Noire's trailers were captured on a PS3. GTA V's trailer was captured from a console. My guess is a PS3. And you know what that means right? All footage of R* games are rendered and captured directly from a console.
