Too many leaks go without much substantiation, and why not leave them open till proven false, just as a collection of ideas to ponder on? I think it's pretty dumb to assume YOU know what's fake and what isn't It's very likely everything "leaked" could be fake, but it keeps forums buzzing about games, me thinks Not a bad thing, but some Moderators seem to think it against the rules, and lock those topics Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You have to think open mindedly and logically about these things and say to yourself "Is this something Rockstar Games would do based on their previous titles". Yes I realize that Rockstar could take a completely different turn with a title and perform an unexpected move but the point still stands about thinking logically. For example, they could be from a different game, previous GTA mod or just not up to the standard that a GTA game would be up too. I do think SOME leaks could be left open for example. Jantsu92 (who created the fake map) and FiS!!HeR (who created the 'James Pedeaston' casting call) showed us how easy it is to fake stuff. I think if the leak is from another website that has information on all games and is well organized, the information would be questionable. That's just my opinion and we all think differently. Some of the stuff that people post on here as a leak is pretty much obvious bullsh*t and made up, that's the reason why some of the topics get locked. The reason that R* refuses to comment on leaks is because letting people make there own decision on fake or legit adds to the hype. It's free marketing. There needs to be a "Possible Leak" thread pinned. As the mods postion? it's this: Any word from rockstar is official and thus true. Anything else, is considered unsubstantiated, and looked upon like evidence in court - your testimony is considered null and void without evidence to back it up. There fore, things NOT from R*'s mouth are fake, beause you can not prove otherwise. things from R* are true, because, well that's proof inofitself. Once you allow one unsubstanciated "leak" to be kicked around you open the floodgates to ANYTHING - you simply can't have a cutoff point, other then "Rockstar's mouth" There should, imo be a subforum in the V forum for "leaks and fakes" and each one having it's own topic in there for discussion - unfortunately, most users, notedbly the newer ones (as vets from 2002/5 ish will fully understand the rules) will ignore this and post anyway. THATS the problem - people thinking they can troll, the mods have to have a stern cut off point in order to mantain order. I don't think it's humanly possible. Why give DeepT so much credit anyway?? A '' Leaks '' thread sonuds good to me It was tried (in fact, two of them appeared at the same time), but unfortunately, it didn't fully stop the flood of threads about leaks, even ones discussed in the pinned thread. It seems that with some subjects - the Wishlist is another - that people ignore pinned threads about them, or think their post will be ignored if they are put in a pinned thread. I'm not upset about it either. I feel this game is going to be WAYYYYY better than GTA IV, so it will be worth the wait. And to be honest, I'd rather not see and info on whats in the game until I play it myself. It got to a point where it was just spam. where is the blue however..... wasn't many of the landmarks in LA? I can't remember As for R*'s secrets - i heard the staff sign contracts to keep the secrets - breaching that would result in a HUGE fine - possibly everything you've earned during the time you've worked there, and possibly even a month or 2 in jail (stranger things have happened) you sign a contract like that, would you dare break it, knowing you'll lose your job, and your wages, PLUS having to pay back the wages you've earned for the last 3 years?
