[GTASA] In-game timecyc editor

There are some problems it comes to create an In-game Map Editor.

First of all there are no filenames in memory. Names are being hashed and game works with hashes to identify. Nothing more than hashes is necessary to identify file in run-time, in result there are no names in memory. Yet it could be fixed by ASI plugin.

Another problem is i don't know to identify objects by screen coords. Click object and select, i don't know how.

Perhaps in 2013/2014.

It's already known since a year ago. Combine get3DCoordsFromScreenXY and getCollisionBetweenPoints functions. wink.gif

@Wesser, if i have collision, then what can i do next to identify object.

And there are some objects with no collision. They are visible, but have no collision.

 

Didn't you follow Readme?

Copy all files from put_to_root_of_GTASA to root of your GTA SA.

You apparently forgot to copy CLEO\CLEO_TEXT from within.

I have already installed this CLEO in my other SA folder and i try to install it in the fresh new SA folder but,i don't know why everytime i installed CLEO with Cleo_Text like trainer/your timecyc editor,it only appears a black box without any alphabet in it.should i upgrade my CLEO ??

What's your CLEO version?

If it's CLEO3 then you need GXTHook.cleo, else if it's CLEO4 the problem is somewhere else.

Perhaps, in 2012 or 2013. Currently I have different projects on the go.

See the source of In-game Timecyc Editor and think how much of time does it take to write so many lines of code in all the files.

 

To other modders: i encourage to create a new timecyc.dat and share it toward the GTA community.

überprüft mal timecyc 1.7 da ist etwas abgestürzt.

Text " next Page" habe ich geklickt und plötzlich still gestanden. irgendwie fehler oder etwas mit cleo 4 nicht funkfonieren

EDIT: In-game Timecyc Editor 1.8 released:

- World Properties -> Light On Ground could be incremented, but couldn't be decremented. Fixed.

Just got to know that this thumbs up/down button has a function I never mind: If it's enabled - value of color will change to 100% if you click on palette to select color, if disabled, the value (in HSV) won't be modified, the brightnes stays. Great!

The quality of my timecyc really improved since I use this tool (also saved me a lot of time I can invest in other projects)...a great contribution for the modding community.

Keep your work up sir! I am sure no one would ever know that there's Illumination in timecyc if you wouldn't have found this out. This one really overhauls the look of some areas ingame icon14.gificon14.gif

 

Sadly there's no possibility to make an ingame enbseries.ini editor...

To save a new generated timecyc.dat, write access to timecyc.dat must be granted.

If game is installed in "Program Files(x86)" and UAC is on, then you must run GTA SA as Administrator.

Click right -> Run as administrator.

Or you can do this:

Click right -> Properties -> Compatibility

Tick "Run this program as administrator"

In-game Timecyc Editor is made on purpose that people will create and share their timecyc.dat files. Please share if you make new timecyc.dat

 

Yes, illumination is working. It seems to be amount of light falling on the models.

Illumination = 0.0

Open these pictures on browser cards and switch between them to see the difference.

 

Unfortunately it's only 0.0/1.0 or 2.0 because of the way how timecyc.dat is loaded. With simple modification of function reading timecyc.dat in gta_sa.exe memory it would be possible to load more precious values.

on the next version, can you add some hotkeys to change the weather & hours? its very useful for who want to re-worked almost all weathers on SA without messing cursor just to change hours and back tweaking again ..

ok, i will add hotkeys. This requested feature will be very easy to implement.

I'm currently working on different project, so you may have to wait some time.

@Sidoarjo_Modder, are you willing show a screenshot of how some weather in your timecyc.dat looks in game?

Some screens? sure, here is some shots of my timecycle (with some plugins like: IMFX, Project 2dfx, Reflection fix, & DK's sun lighting script. No ENB used)

fog offset still needs optimization though. i don't know if there's some lighting parameters & illumination on timecyc (before this tool came out, i don't ever touch the timecycle file. i'm too lazy editing it with plain text editor. especially, those numbers :p)

The only problem is, the colour transition between bottom & upper sky looks very poor, really. just like pixelated-gradient or something like that.

I couldn't edit timecyc.dat before In-game Timecyc Editor was created. I knew it wasn't nice to edit timecyc.dat in Notepad or existing timecyc editors as external applications.

 

Now how do you guys think R* edited timecyc.dat originally?

Bumping? As long as author is active there's no problem at all.

 

How weather behaves (rain, lightning) is hardcoded in gta_sa.exe

To see it, you may copy the first weather 23 times in timecyc.dat and see how it works in game.

RAINY weathers will still have rain, but the sky color will be blue, because the color is controlled by the timecyc.dat

 

How lightning looks like - you can see New Great Effects, the author changed lightning.

 

Interior - I don't know, no weather seems to change it and I haven't made any further research.

How about something that changes sky gradient drawing? The way the colors are mixed (that straight line on hsv table) is just fine but how it is displayed is just poor. Something curved would be way better and the gradient should not stop anywhere but continue to the point right above the player.
