Red XIII Posted March 20, 2013 Share Posted March 20, 2013 (edited) the visuals on this game are going to be good, I cant wait to be playing 64 man battles on console with high end graphics. it should of been battlefield 3 on next gen consoles. am I right in thinking the frost bite engine is designed for the next generation?, if that's so then dice has a head start over other developers. Well some games on Steam do it, but it's more like "The more pre orders we get the more you unlock sh*t!" Yes, according to EA and/or DICE, Frostbite 2 was designed for next gen. They likely designed BF3 early on using the 720/PS4 dev kits, then moved that early build to the current gen. 4 will likely be much better, using the engine on the system it was originally designed for. The Battlelog server browser is about 100 times quicker than BF2's in-game browser. They should really give both options to be honest. Warfighter gave both options and they both worked. But I agree... to be honest the Battlelog system works really well and fast. (well, except for launching/joining a game for the first time and ESPECIALLY on vanilla maps. Since i'll still be on consoles for battlefield 4 I am happy to see 64 players as standard. It will also mean that no compromises in the map had to be made this time for consideration of the consoles. I just hope more of my friends get into this time. Not officially confirmed i don't think, just presumptions made by the community, which i think are well founded. If there is 64 player BF4, it'll only be next gen.
