GTA III

It had a quicker pace, and characters actually got to the point. IVs scipt was overly verbose to the point of annoyance, especially how the characters where constantly whining or pissed in their dialouges when niko would go on his man-dates.

Or in normal terms I WANT COD. The dialogues between characters gave the game a much better feel and atmosphere, now I understand you like the short stuff so why not just skip the damn cutscene, the option is there in both games. Face it R* grew up if you look at the size of the script between IV and III you can see which one had more love blood sweat and tears put into it.

In 2001 there weren't many possibilities, and Rockstar didn't think big.Remember,Gta made it's step to 3D,while Gta 4 didn't.They had a lot of new ideas for GTA 4,while,for Gta 3,they didn't.I'm pretty sure if Rockstar could, they would have made Gta 3 even more advanced than Gta 4.

IV's script was ridiculous. We had some random, annoying immigrant running around pretending to be moral and good while doing thoroughly boring jobs for his thoroughly disinteresting friends. There may have been more missions, but half of them were just changed destinations for the same tasks. IV had better graphics and more cars, but it was trumped by III in the creativity and fun departments.

I'd rather have Claude, who is bad to the bone and knows/shows it, then some fag like Niko who is a bad guy but pretends and tries to be a good guy.

GTA III script is a bit too fast for me... expecially after Portland, the game lost part of his touch, because he goes way to fast 'till the end and quickly jump from a job to another, leaving some big plot hole behind (and there are no true bosses in shoreside... i think a couple of them would have made the game longer and more enjoyable)

GTA IV is way oversized in dialogues, and sometimes fall in contraddiction (niko wants to escape from his past, but after few hours he is in a bar to kill an homosexual, only because "a friend asks him to do so").

the difference is that GTA III quickly build the situation before the mission, while GTA IV tell us the context, but sometimes fail from give us a real explanation during the cut-scenes ("bla bla bla you will marry her bla bla bla my past bla bla... oh, sh*t, i forgot, we have to go out for something, let's go"), and have explanation while driving is very annoying

im sorry but i didnt liked gta4's story one bit. and i dont want to play it again. on the other hand, i guess i completed gta3's story like 20 or 25 times. so as you see, gta4 only had the graphics which they even failed to optimize in pc's! its f*cking 2012 and i cant still play it in high settings. but all other games are fine with the high settings of graphics. oh so why? because "go buy console, we want you to pay for the game and console". well no, f*cking no. i will never do that. we will see if anybody will remember gta4 on it's 10th birthday like gta3.

if you ask me, gta4 is just a f*ckin next gen game that has nothing to do with "real" gta games. and anyone prefers gta4 over the 1, 2 and 3 are not gta players. they are only following the popularity of the day.

The thing I like about GTA III is the realism and modern urban atmosphere. GTA IV also has that, and if I had the means to play it right now it would be my favorite.

I do too, like many of you, share great memories with the older games but that doesn't stop me from appreciating newer ones. I think GTA games have always been about realism, one way or another. Think about the things you can do in the games, it's things that happen in real life, but you don't get to do all of those things in real life.

r* didnt answer anything in the right way, so thats why i dont care about it's discussion topic.

oh, R* didn't answer anything in right way... orly.gif

It was their game, their rules and their answers, so they can answer any way they like. If you don't like it, go somewhere else, find yourself other game and stop ranting. You would probably be happy if R* would confirmed many people's sick theories about Darkel, WTC, changes made because of 9/11 and many other things and in addition to that they should send everybody copy of GTA III beta to play.

R* is one of the best (if not the best) companies on the market these days and they didn't produce single game that can be classified as crap or mediocre game. They didn't have answer any of your question, but they thought it would be nice touch to fans to give them gift like that on tenth anniversary of one of their best titles. You gave them questions, they gave us answers, but it was game on their rules from very beginning.

The best fact is, that R* said there was no blowing up school buses, but there is a screenshot showing this -.- FAIL.

None of these missions involved blowing up buses of school children although that is a funny rumor!

At least you could read that with understanding. Blowing School Buses - yes. Mission with blowing Bus with school children inside - no.

YOU DONT GET IT

we wanted "real" answers. not something like "there was nothing like that, that's that!". they could atleast explain why that rumor came to known as the truth.. they obviously didn't wanted to give any info about beta or anything else. dodo and donald love was connected some how. they are the creators of the game and the answer was "nobody knows". really? if you dont know, then why did you wanted to answer all those questions at the first place?

they can say whatever they want to. we have all those beta screens and they explained everything before some "asked & answered" thing came out.

In my opinion You don't get it. You're acting like they needed to tell You the truth. Fact is, they didn't. You can't make them. You can take these anwers or act like a angry child, break your toy shovel and leave the sand box.

I checked their answers and there wasn't a single one that was "Nobody knows" I'm assuming that you were talking about Love's dissapearance. Ask Tarantino what was in suitcase in Pulp Fiction or Zeik or Mammet (guys who wrote screenplay to Ronin) what was in this movie in the suitcase. Simple answer is we don't know, because it is the point of the story. Same is with Love, he just gone somewhere, but we don't know, because it doesn't really matter and we got ten another things to worry then, so we just left it. You want real answer? He took money, his package (at least something that was inside) and went to Cayman Islands or Aruba or some sh*t. Will you sleep better now?

And you said "we have all those beta screens and they explained everything". That's not always true, because you got only screens, without the context. And from this screens everybody and his mother could produce any info they want in the early days. I remember reading a lot of bullsh*t about many games (Mafia II, GTA III, SA, etc.) in the first presspacks. Somebody saw plane on the sky and said "we gonna fly", somebody saw car wash and said "we gonna wash our cars", somebody saw open trunk in cutscene and said "OMG, we gonna hide some stuff in there" Beta screens and presspacks are often full of bullshots (Getaway: BM screens), so only true info about game comes from the game and developers.

There are some discussion, who said that, when and how, but this statement is still and will be true forever: " If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth."
