The Heat need a more decent bench, they're too dependent on the Big 3. LeBron scores 30 avg every game, Wade 20, and the bench usually under 10. They ought to get James Harden or Ginobili.

Erik Spo's leaving town probably if Heat is sent home now.

The Heat are susceptible to strong PG play and they don't have anyone to guard dominant centers. They are a small team and are entirely too dependent on their two primary scorers. They need a veteran PG who can play defense and hit big shots at the end of games like a Chauncey Billups type, and a 7-footer who can block shots and disrupt things in the paint. Without that, I don't think they will ever win.

I don't know what the Heat need.

I dunno if it's coaching.

I dunno if it's veteran leadership.

I dunno if it's the bench.

I dunno if it's the egos.

but whatever it is, it's debilitating. it causes them to implode at the worst possible time.

they can play well all year and they can play well for most of the individual game.

but as soon as there's 10 mins to go in the 4th, they suddenly forget how to play basketball.

it's really weird to watch. mostly because it doesn't make any sense. they're way too talented for this crap.

Wade and James look completely helpless / clueless as soon as the game gets close in the 4th.

and you know Michael Jordan never would have done this. he never would have put up with all this pussy-footing around. if his team was struggling he would have demanded the ball on every single play and just kept pounding the paint; driving straight to the basket to create openings or draw fouls but always to give his team options.

when the Heat get in the same situation they just totally break down.

Wade and James forget how to make strong drives. they make terrible passes. it really is weird to behold.

It's going to be a war tonight - serious pressure on LeBron James to get it done. Miami still has trouble with the zone defense.

Props to OKC - young boys getting it done. Shows you what happens when you have smart ownership that builds the right way(unlike my Knicks).

Shocking to say the least. Never thought Miami would be in this position. But I'm not writing off the Heat or Spurs yet. If they can take it to Game 7, I think both will win.

Already I'm hearing & reading that Miami should break up the Big 3 if they fail this season. BS. What they need to do is surround the Big 3 with a better supporting cast. Can you imagine how dangerous Miami would be with Steve Nash at the point? He's the established, veteran PG they need. Someone who'll say to the stars, "I'm running the offense - get to your sweet spot and I'll get you the ball."

They're not getting Steve Nash and Nash wouldn't be a good fit with the Heat anyways. Seeing the bench's + Wade's + Lebron's + Bosh's behavior, Nash wouldn't like being around that. He's calm, cool, and smart. A better match for Nash is DA BULLS. They play to win, not fool around on the sidelines. Any other team then the Heat would be good for him.

I would love to see Lebron attempting a game winner clutch three and then get blocked by KG. Sorta like what LBJ did himself last year in the ECFs!

Well they certainly got it done tonight. If they can play like this every game then they may actually win those 7 rings...

yeah and that's exactly why I was saying that it's so weird.

because when they play well they play very well and they're capable of rolling over any opponent.

but then half the time - at least in the 4th quarter - it's like they suddenly forget how to play.

everything they do changes and they blow 10-15-20 point leads.

tonight they played well. but which style of play is going to show up on Saturday?

who knows...

At this point Nash wants a ring. Him being point for the heat would be perfect so can orchestrate the offense, something Spolestra obviously needs help with, and it's not that he isn't strict enough, they just need to execute better plays. I feel like most the time they throw it to LeBron and they all run around mindlessly until someone gets the ball.

I'm pretty sure the Blazers will drop Greg Oden this year and Oden went and did the special knee surgery Bynum got done over-seas. So maybe if he comes back healthy and stays healthy, he could be a good asset to a team. Heat maybe? They need scary presence inside the paint ala Kendrick Perkins for the Thunder.

HOF performance by LeBron the other night, but it won't do much to shut up the haters. Folks who don't acknowledge him as the best in the NBA aren't paying attention. He brought a lot of hostility on himself with that media circus, but I think some fans have gone too far. I'm confidant Miami wins tonight, but being a Knick fan, I'll be rooting for OKC to wipe the court with them.

Heat have the same problem the Knicks have - a top-heavy payroll, which makes it hard to add quality depth.

A dream Finals match-up for me. OKC Thunder being my hometown team vs Miami Heat who contains my favorite player in LeBron James. This series will go 7 games, David Stern and his goons will milk this for what its all worth. I will say, the one time Miami came to town this year (which I attended) they played like absolute garbage.

Damn, Chris Bosh shooting threes after an injury, Bron being clutch. Is this a fake game?

This is will be a great series if Bosh continues to play at an extremely high level or if Wade goes back to being Wade instead of being some washed-up, overpaid bum. Of course, that will be tough for Wade since Sefolosha is a much better defender than anyone he faced against Celtics.

If neither of them play well, sayonara Miami.

We finally have a championship series in which the opposing stars play the same position - James vs Durant. Should be fun. It will be a long series, especially if Bosh does his thing. OKC in 7.

It must suck for the fans in Seattle watching this.

My favorite team all in all are the Chicago Bulls. There's always two sides in a story and in this case it's two conferences. I have a right to cheer for the Thunder. I'm not a bandwagon fan. I actually despise them ever since they blew the Bulls out in March.

I'm cheering for the the Thunder because A.) Kevin Durant deserves some recognition and B.) They fought through some of the top teams in the NBA. Seems to me you're only throwing a hissy fit because I'm not cheering for the Heat. I'm a BULLS fan, I hate the Heat.

And what do you mean cheering for the other conference? I picked two teams, one from both conferences. Bulls and Spurs.

The Thunder aren't my hometown team. I'm only rooting for them in this series. I'm from Florida myself(Jacksonville) and there's no team in that city. I like the Bulls because of their whole demeanor they bring to the court and I like how Rose ressurrected the franchise.

Ahhhh, yeah I mistook Doom's post for your post lol. Sorry about that. tounge.gif

And I'm pretty happy about the Thunder winning Game 1. Wade continued to play like a bum so I'll blame the Heat's loss on him along with their lack of interior defense. It seemed like OKC scored so many points in the paint going down the stretch.

Horrible officiating in Finals Game 2. There was that bull sh*t goaltending call in the second quarter, no-call against Durant in the final seconds, and that call on Fisher when he was defending a driving Wade and didn't touch him at all.

I still think Miami played the better overall game, but that doesn't matter. Bottom line is, there's a good chance that the Thunder win this game with better officiating.

I have to agree, not calling the foul in the final seconds which could've tied up the game was just terrible. Heat now has the possibility to finish it up in Florida, however I think the whole series is a setup by the league so it would stretch down to seven games.

Yup, as I said, Stern is going to milk this. He's getting bookoo money out of this series. He has the big-town market vs. small town market, superstars vs. superstars.

This really isn't a great "match-up" but two great teams playing each other. When we have Perkins out there when Heat have a smaller and faster lineup, we tend to let shooters like Battier, Miller and Bosh with nice high percentage shots. Honestly, we should be down 2-0 but with the Heat being so inconsistent in the 4th quarter it's easy for the Thunder to make a run and make it look closer than it seemed or just winning it... something Miami isn't good at themselves. I think if the Heat have trouble in the 1st half with this Thunder in this series, it'll be a ugly game.

I think Bulls and Thunder would've been a better match-up. Bulls specialize on defense, they have a deep bench just like Thunder, and they both have great PGs. Bulls' popularity is rising and so was Thunder's...that would make great ratings(David Stern personality)

I want David Stern to f*cking retire.

I know you guys are confident that the game is rigged by way of officiating.

but I honestly don't believe that there's enough evidence to really support that. right now it's little more than circumstantial speculation.

if anything, the amount of fouls that are called (or not called) just goes to show how poor the rules of basketball are in general; they're way too subjective.

it's not really fair on the officials to begin with.

to me it seems like they are doing their best. when I find myself disagreeing with a call, it's not based on which team it was against, it's based on the fact that I usually don't see where the foul occurred.

a big part of the problem is simply over-officiating.

they need to step back during the post season (like other sports referee's do) and let the men play tough.
