So I shall just list down the categories for each of my liking: Best Story: Portal 2 Best Action/Adventure: Batman Arkham City Best RPG: Skyrim Best Shooter: Gears of Wars 3 With the exception of Gears of Wars 3, I think the other three games deserves the top spot for the Game Of The Year award. It's not like any of the studios will be like, "OMG f''k the VGAs we won 'gaming chat'" I remember last year it never even got to a final poll, so let's just get a shortlist together here then make a fresh poll topic. Skyrim, now, is other story, already done 3 characters and completed same quests and I'm still not bored, much to be done. So my vote goes for Skyrim, with Portal 2 on the second place of course. The amount of detail, huge map, entertaining story and shear hours of gameplay for your buck is amazing. I've still to play Batman though and look forward to that. I wasn't caught up in any hype (it's my first Elders Scrolls game) and I knew little of the game but it did exceed anything I imagined and also I commonly hear people say it exceeded their expectations. They are the only games that didn't disappoint me in the slightest this year (Battlefield 3 only slightly disappointed whilst SR3, DNF and Crysis 2 were greatly disappointing). That game has an exponential replay value, something we seldom see in today's industry. It also has one of the most immersive worlds and a damn fine soundtrack too.
