Develop it for PC, Xbox360 and PS3.This are the MOST populair consoles for playing games like this. If you look to the stats: For the people who buy a GTA, it's 33% for each console so 33% PS3; 33% PC; 33% Xbox360. It should be smart if Rockstar develop GTA V also for Apple! Obviously a lot of people play GTA but making a version a portable version is no "Nick of Time". It takes time. Rockstar may even plan to release it for i-phones. "One of the problems with the 360, and it affects games like Grand Theft Auto if you think about how much content we put in the actual machine, is the fact that they don't have a significantly larger storage medium than the previous systems. It's a slightly bigger DVD disc," Houser told 1up. Then take into account that not all Xbox 360s come with a hard drive. It's here that things get super sticky. "The 360 is going to have to get 'round this issue we're talking about...hopefully, they're going to adopt one of those in the next year or so, because it's going to become more of an issue. If we're filling up the disc right now, where are we going? It's not like our games are going to get any smaller." The delay heard round the world was mostly credited to technical issues during IV's development. Some said the 360 didn't have enough space to hold the game; others heard that the PS3 version was having big problems of its own. Whatever the case, Houser isn't telling. "Both machines are absolutely fantastic, but they both come with strengths and weaknesses. The strength of the 360 is a very, very accessible, familiar, effective environment to work in. You're making the game from the get-go, everyone understands its PC environment -- boom, off we go. It's pretty good." Development on the PS3 version wasn't too smooth early on, however. "I think it was challenging for a lot of companies, but it's also a machine where, now that we've got comfortable with it -- I don't want to say we've cracked it, but we've got comfortable with it -- we know we can make our games." Many have posed a big question that's on my mind, for sure: Does either version look better than the other? "There's a slight difference in the way they look," Houser admitted. "I think that's to do with really low-level technical stuff that I'm not the guy to explain. The 360 games have a certain look to them; PS3 games have a certain look to them. I like the way [the PS3] renders." He concluded, "There's a certain kind of softness without being blurry -- some warmth to it -- and then there's a certain more clinical element to how the 360 looks." If someone knows please let me know. I've always wondered if it would be possible for a compromise in that situation. Say it's multi-disk but if you have a HDD you could install them all for more seamless gameplay. With BF3 the HD texture pack installed from multiplayer disk but it included textures for SP. I know an HD texture pack is not the same as part of the map or missions but I'm just though I'd mention it. Something like that probably falls more into Microsoft's ballpark than Rockstar's but if they were willing to pay millions for DLC , I don't see it as out of the realm of possibilities that they would change their multi-disk install policies at Rockstar's urging. Although, if it is exclusive to PS3, we wont have to worry about lesser graphics from being ported from the xbox. Dont know if that was the case with IV, but it is with some games. Maybe some of my friends would finally wisen up and get a PS3 then, and I'd actually have someone to play online with. Since it will probably be on both, I may get an xbox for it. Because I want to play online with friends. Then later Ill get it for PC for better graphics and modding. Thats if I can justify getting a box just so I can play one game with friends, which probably will end in me getting it for PS3 anyways. Heck, Id rather buy my friend a PS3 and the game now that I think of it. Although, I so want Forza 4... Urgh, the conundrum that is my life... Rainbow Six has been confirmed to be multi platform by Ubisoft, MS own the Halo IP and Valve would never ever abandon their PC fanbase (as it's the largest fanbase). You could say that if Sony threw the money at Valve they might bite, but Valve don't need their money as Steam makes them a killing. It definitely won't be a Blizzard game either, as most their fans are PC gamers. It seems to be the "Last of Us" game teased, possibly by Epic Games or Bungie as Cliffy B of Epic Games has teased a reveal of a brand new IP and also if it's so shocking and surprising it must be from a known developer and not a Sony in-house studio. Wasnt Agent already confirmed as a PS3 exclusive? Nothing shocking there. I really doubt that GTAV will be a ps3 exclusive but the fact that they didn't show the consoles at the end of the trailer or on the GTAV page raises some red flags. I think if we've heard of the series before we might be surprised, but who's to assume so if we've never thought about this NEW game or anticipated it? I think they mean to say the developer is highly noted... LIKE Rockstar, and that the game will just be an amazing build.
