I agree completely. Sentencing policy in this country is far too lenient in some areas, and not nearly lenient enough in others. For instance, it's fully possible for a rape or serious sexual assault sentence to be 3 or 4 years- one individual received a 5 year sentence for riding his motorcycle at 170mph on an essentially deserted dual carriageway at 3am. That's truly insane, that a rapist who ruins someone's life gets a less stringent sentence than an individual who endangers no-one but himself. You are an intelligient guy Sivis, Care to try and elaborate why this could be? Honest answer is, I don't have a clue. With this particular example, it's probably got a lot to do with the last political administration's "war on the motorist" as it was often termed. It depends exactly what you're comparing too. Sentenced handed down and sentence carried out are usually pretty different things. I seriously doubt any judge would give only 3 or 4 years in their sentencing for a serious sexual assault, but it is easily believable that the convictee only served that (good behaviour while inside or whatever). With the speeding case, because of the exceptional speed, he was probably made an example of. Plus there's the fact that while, in fact, he might not have been endangering himself, he didn't know that for sure and that makes him pretty reckless. Sanjeem Posted December 13, 2011 Share Posted December 13, 2011 When You are really, really bored and you just want to see a mate or go get trolley'd with you're friends and all that stuff but then everybody is either unavailable or they are on holiday or ill, something like that and you just find out you can't do anything. Sometimes out of boredom and just light up a spliff 'cos I have nothing to do but yeah, I don't get depressed by a lot of things. If I haven't had any action from girls in a long while then I get sort of depressed but this christmas has been good so far Merry Christmas all, don't get depressed! Why should I have to adjust to your beliefs? You moved here I didn't move to your country. This is supposed to be a happy time of year and the negativity in this world is overshadowing all that. It's simply becoming depressing that Christmas is dying and nobody seems to care. Am I the only one that still loves the holidays?
