They'vre going the wrong route with the way theyre handling this i can tell you that. Interest on GTAV is dropping off by the day if they dont release more info.

The game is still half a year away at the very earliest and 10 months away at the latest, they don't need to really start building up the hype for a while yet. People will always be interested in a GTA game so only one trailer in a little over a month since it's official announcement is fine. They're not doing anything wrong, just be patient and the info will come.

If R* didn't release another stitch of info between now and the release date, you would still buy it.

And so would I.

And so would about 10 million other people.

And Rockstar know this.

Exactly.

No matter if Rockstar gives or doesn't give more info until the release date, almost every person who has played GTA series so far WILL buy the game out of curiosity.

Rockstar* is very secretive about their game's, and alway's have been.

It's just a matter of them wanting you to play the game for the first time and be amazed other than be spoiled with the coolest feature's early on.

R* could not release any info atall then just put it in the shops with a white cover that just has the GTA V logo on it and nothing else and it would still get about 20m sales.

There was no info and no trailer or screenshots between the GTA IV announcement in May 2006 and March 2007, and info was cut off again for about 3 months after the big delay was announced (because Rockstar was resisting the pressure of extra time causing extra info to be spoiled). There was also very little information for 6 months after Red Dead Redemption's first trailer. It's only been a month since the GTA V trailer.

Zee, you've been here since 2002, you know how Rockstar does things.

I think they're doing the right thing. What's the point of releasing too much info? Sure it's to tease and hype us up but no need to spew out new information every day. Two more trailers and a couple of magazine exclusives would do it for me. I want to know as little as possible about the game when it's released. I want elements of surprise when I play, I don't want to know every feature in advance.

And I know the OP wasn't talking about how he receive lots of information, but I think many of us can't wait to know every little detail about the game.

I'm seriously fine with 3 trailers and a few magazine exclusives where they talk about a couple of new feaures, how big the city is and a little about the story. That would do it for me. I think we received too much info about GTAIV.

Too much is not in the equation... Enough info IS! (still images are enough to give weeks of speculation additional to the trailer

What, so that we can be dissapointed again if it gets delayed by 5 months again like IV. I just think people need to be a little less impatient and et Rockstar make their game to the best they can. Its not like they are one of the greedy money grabbing game developers/publishers who release a new freaking call of duty every bloody year even though its the same ruddy thing with a different story.

Too early for a release date, Zee. They are still building and testing it, I'm pretty sure you could bet money on that, it should NOT take a year or the same time as GTA IV, at least I operate under the assumption this game has far fewer hurdles to get over!

GTA IV prob just got delayed because it was the first xbox 360 game and it had LOTS o testing to do, but now theyre good hopefully.

People say they are losing interest because of the lack of info, I say that's utter bull. I'm glad R* are tight lipped, I honestly wouldn't mind if they only released a maximum of 20 screenshots & 2 trailers prior to release.

If we were bombarded with information, screenshots, videos, interviews, magazine features etc etc, your interest in playing the game would go down instead of up. Movies have been ruined by over exposure, sometimes even before post production has been completed.

The second any new info is dropped just watch the hype build right back up alien.gif

Actually, the COD series of games are terrific, and MW3 sold more in thr first week than GTAIV has sold in four years. How about R* learn to compete with other game companies and not be so lazy as to take FIVE YEARS to make a game that only has ONE bloody city.
