AimForTheBrain
Hey all. I'm new to this forum and I've had a search through your topics and I didn't find anything relating to this. Forgive me if this is already posted though. I'm interested in purchasing the Double Pack of GTA III and Vice City. Sadly this item is only available on the Xbox and I own a 360. I am curious to know if it will play on the 360 before I buy it as I don't want to waste money. Also, how can I tell if my Xbox has been upgraded/modified etc? The only information I can give you regarding the type of Xbox I have is that it is a 360 Elite. Thank you for reading this and all replies will be appreciated. But please don't reply if you have nothing positive to say. I didn't join this forum to be insulted/mocked/trolled etc. Thanks again!
œaœa
Yes it does. But it has a very bad framerate when there are a lot of cars on the road. And in Vice City it is the same and when you're running with Tommy the game skips.
radioman
You must not have used the Search function, as there have been multiple topics on this subject in the III/VC/SA sections. Just a heads up. But, anyway, that would depend on which model you have for the 360-as according to the box the 360 comes in, the Arcade model does not have backwards compatibilty, but the Pro(60GB) and Elite(120GB) models are compatible with X-Box games. I have the Pro model(60GB) and III, VC, SA play great on it. But it has a very bad framerate when there are a lot of cars on the road. And in Vice City it is the same and when you're running with Tommy the game skips. That is not a game problem-that is something on your end-as I have played III, VC, and SA on the 360 and have not experianced anything that I have not experianced on the PS2 version. For the Record, I played the PC versions first, then the PS2 versions, then the X-Box versions on the 360. Just a friendly heads up.

Filip
Framerate is ok - problem is only when the game objects are loading (in the beginning). After playing for some time - game is loaded properly, everything is ok. This is because this game plays from CD, not from hard drive. Unfortunately, it is impossible to copy this to hard drive. Radioman is right - there is nothing about framerate, only in the beginning of our game, GTA III must be fully loaded with textures I hope this clears whole situation. Greetings. Is anyone not experiencing what I am? I've had a lot of lag with both games (GTA 3 has more than Vice City but still). I've been playing them on a brand new Xbox 360 250gb edition and have a lot of slowdown with both games.

CJPNE
Vice City was unplayable for me, constant lagging. GTA III was fine though.
Magic_Al
I don't remember problems with these. They were the only original Xbox games to render at 720p on a 360. They look much sharper than officially-supported San Andreas. Maybe San Andreas is set to lower resolution to avoid the lag. Considering that compatibility is Intel emulation on PowerPC only one generation newer it's amazing anything works.
