Drugs Wars in GTA V?

I really like the drugs wars in TBOGT. Now we're in Vinewood, Los Santos..

That's a real drug city? So why not drugs wars again?

What do you think about that?

* It should be awesome that you can get drugs by a guy, sell them on the street to other people and if the guy don't wanr too buy drugs, he calls the police.

Maybe undercover also agents when you can be a drugdealer??

I really like the drug wars and the drug dealing in Chinatown Wars, it just added another level to the things I would never do in real life. Maybe if they came up with some way to work it into the plotline it might be cool.

No more gangs, jesus. Haven't you had enough of this ghetto sh*t?

It would be better if GTA V would involve something on a high tech level. You know, breaking into a secured structure to steal diamonds, small robberies, not some brainless rampage. More stealth.

"not some brainless rampage"

i never said anything like this, but if you dont know LA is the GANG capital of the world...

i actually want stealth missions too, doesnt mean because they are a gang they are stupid so you just bust in there and f*ck sh*t up..

(you'd be suprised how smart some gangs can operate)

So what if LA is gang capital of the world? It's not like only gangs live there. And I'm quite sure 99% of the gangs in LA can't pull off something like high tech robberies and I think you aren't in a position to know how some gangs operate. Unless, you're a part of some gang that we don't know about? I mean, if some gangs operate that good, how a guy who is 18 years old can know ''how well they're operating?

Drug Wars were my most favourite of all the side missions, I must've completed at least 150 of them. I'll be glad if they expand upon the idea in V. Everything from dealing to Vinewood celebrities to Meth-head bikers out in the sticks.

Never played TBOGT, but the drug dealing in China Town Wars was amazing. I'd want something like that but even more extended and full blown in GTA V.

Buffalo Soldier

For once I want a GTA were Drugs aren't involved in the storyline, I'm fed up with it - it's been done to death and it's boring.

The only way it would be interesting is if WE can take the drugs ourself, I'm not going to fight with some bosses like Sonny or Tenpenny again, just to get a large batch of coke from them to 'my guys' if I can't have abit of the sh*t for myself.

I want the protagonist to be able to have the effect of smoking weed, or taking ecstasy etc

So many people put an age barrier on so many things, granted that some things should restrict age, a person could only be 10 years old and still choose to educate themselves in whatever prospects they want to. You never know, that 18 year old you just "told off" could have a very broad expertise in gang activity.

On Topic: Yes, i want them back i loved the drug wars in TBoGT.

I wouldn't mind, but they shouldn't have those stupid conversations while you're driving to the locaation. Same ones, over and over.

Educate? How some gangs operate these days ain't something you can read on the internet. There is no possible way for you, for me or I'm quite sure that neither is for him to know anything about the way LA gangs operate unless, as I've said, he is a member of one of the gangs.

And if he isn't a part of the gang and he still somehow magically knows how these gangs ''operate'', then:

a) That gangs don't operate well if an 18 year old who is not a part of the gang knows about their operations.

b) He would be working for the FBI and LAPD.

Drug wars were pretty useless. We only did the same thing over and over again and that was pretty pointless. There should be variety, other than just driving around and killing people in the cars or stealing a boat or interrupting a meeting. bored.gif

Yes , why not?Gang Wars in TLAD and Drug Wars in TBOGT was basicaly replacement for a old "Rampage " activities from GTA3 and VC and they were good when you just want to shoot something betwen missions.

What exactly is the reason you are getting personal here? And why do you require someone to give references to materials about gang activity?

And apparently, if you think that gang activity no longer exists in the form we see in GTA:SA, which is known to portray the year 1992, you are dead wrong.

that would be right, undermining my knowledge because im 18, well ive done my research (not wiki), ive read books/websites, watched documentaries, watched various shows which explain to you how they operate..

i think its time you done your own research.

@ Jimmy Leppard

I cannot see what your problem is, you are acting like we had a lot of that ghetto gang stuff in GTA. San Andreas has been the ONLY GTA game so far in the series to really focus on the ghetto and street gangs, and the most recent GTA title (GTA IV) was for most part about organized crime like the Russian Mob, Italian Mafia and Irish Mob. So just what the f**k are you screaming about ?? You talk about wanting to see high-tech robberies ?? Most GTA games have all some kind of major sophisticated robbery mission, VC, SA and GTA IV, they all had this kind of stuff, where have you been ?? And what the f**k has brainless rampages got to do with the player engaging in Drug Wars ? Nothing at all. GTA cannot just be about one type of crime, its gonna give the player opportunities to engage in all kinds of criminal activity for money, not just robberies or even drugs. If the game was just about high-tech robberies it would get boring fast. That was one of the main criticisms of GTA IV, too many of the missions were hitman-based and thats what made it feel a bit repetitive sometimes. And there will be street gangs in GTA V in some major way, because its based on LA, so deal with it. And please reduce the amount of bullsh*t you talk.

On topic: I would obviously LOVE to see a drugs-based set of side activities, but something that is more varied and engaging for the player. I slightly agree with the guy who said the Drug Wars in TBOGT were useless, I felt that way after a completing most of them. I really enjoyed the Drug Wars in TBOGT at first, but after a while they began to feel a bit tedious and repetitive - all you and crew did was steal/hijack drugs from rival gangs and that was it. What happened to selling the drugs ? Dealing different drugs ? Importing drugs ? Expanding your customer base or fighting over territory for drug sales ? There should be more depth and sophistication to the concept of Drug Wars or a newer drug-dealing side activity in GTA V this time around, not the repetitive stuff we saw in TBOGT.

A drug-dealing game would more suit a younger, street-gang based protagonist though - I just don't think an older, middle-aged protagonist (like the alleged Ned Luke-lookalike guy in the trailer) would running around personally doing drug deals or selling drugs and getting wars over drug sales.

This. I don't ever recall there being any mission in any GTA game where you are the one who does the actual deal. It would be sweet if you had a deal scheduled in a warehouse or back alley and you got to choose how many body guards to hire or hire a sniper to watch over you.

Sounds great, Drug Wars was my favorite activity in TBOGT. smile.gif I'd like it to be changed a little though, it'd be nice to allow us to use stealth in it if we want to. Maybe go as far as even wearing a disguise to full the goons into thinking we're in their gang. Obviously a higher ranking member would see right through it and that could lead to a big shoot out, the risk of being found out should add some suspense to it.
