In gta sa, flames used to born when one object was on fire and anther one too and slowly-slowly it made huge flames. Should it come back?

In gta 4, whenever we do burnout for a long time, we get flames. Should it come back?

In gta 5.... nothing was shown in trailer. So what should come back fellows? confused.gif

Also, i used the search function and no topic was like this, so i made this.

I forgot about the flames being progressive in SA. Yeah, that was a nice feature. If you ever played the game Far Cry 2, they really showed off the progressive games well in that title. I would like to see progressive flames,

Don't care for flaming tires really . . .

Yeah, Far Cry 2 had some of the best (if not the best) fire physics I have ever seen in a video game.

flames do spread a little in GTA 4. in the hospital for example, the fire spreads on the carpet. they still die after a short while so i wish it would spread more.

In the trailer you can see a burning car, well look at the flames, they're moving left-right and there are umuch flames..

I want a fire to spread, so a whole building can go up in flames if the fire department doesn't come.

Woah wait. Whenever I do a burnout for a long time all I get is smoke and the tires pop. Am I missing something here?

Buffalo Soldier

Flames just need improved more than anything really, they need to spread again - they need to enhance the smoke, which it looks like they have done in the trailer, they need to make the flames hang around FAR longer than they do aswell and just have different styling of flames depending on the situation.

This would be cool. icon14.gif

Fire in games i find is rarely done well. Far Cry 2 made it awesome - trees burnt to charred skeletons and one molotov could wipe out half a dozen guards. I attacked a small village and threw a molotov to distract enemies. The wind threw the flames toward the buildings and the entire village was on fire! I was safely on a rooftop, but i was trapped. All but 1 or 2 enemies were wiped out and 5 mins later the floor's black, the building's black etc.

And in FC it SOUNDED awesome.

I'd love to see realisitic fire in V - especially when cars are on fire - they should burn for ages!

In GTA SA, the flames spread AND the firetruck would come to put out the fire. The firetruck AI would aim the hose at each bit of fire and put it out. This was sorely lacking in GTA IV and must have been a technical problem all the new stuff. The firetruck AI not working is probably the reason fires go out so fast in IV. I'm sure Rockstar will put this back in because it's something that got obviously worse between SA and IV.

But in trialer, a ambulance come not a firetruck. Interesting, huh?

context probably.

If there's injured people, an ambulance would come - and most of the time there'll be an ambulance anyway.

But without seeing WHY the vehicles on fire you wouldnt know - someone could have been wasted THEN the car blew up....

dont look TOO much into that tiny little clip

It's interesting in IV because the ambulance AI started in SA still works while the similar firetruck AI from SA is gone. Ambulances in GTA IV still respond on their own to NPC injuries. However the ambulance almost always fails to notice or help injured NPCs when you use the 911 feature new to GTA IV. With fires, they burn out so fast it is difficult to call a firetruck fast enough, but if you manage it they will ignore the fires.

The situation with the ambulance AI in IV, not helping people when you call them, suggests that if the GTA SA firetruck AI still worked in IV, the firetruck would respond to fires on its own but would ignore fires when you call them. This could be another reason why the fire response AI was removed and fires made to burn out quickly.

A burning car with injured peds should get both a firetruck and ambulance response. The 911 feature should be improved so that responders look for and deal with relevant emergencies when they arrive.

Absolutely 100% bring a sh*t load of flames back. Add some true realism to the game.

+1 for arsonists.
