Injuries to enemies?

One thing that really bugged me in GTA IV was that no matter how many bullets you shot someone in the leg (an enemy), they wouldn't get weaker. You would have to keep on firing them until they got shot to the point they were injured and couldn't get up.

I would like to see something like this in GTA V: When you shoot an enemy in the leg or the arm, they progressively get weaker. They start missing shots, and now limp. Sometimes, they decide to drop to the ground to avoid risking further injury (similar to a concept of enemies simply giving up, but that's another thread). Sometimes, a shot in the leg should be enough to cripple them. I think that injury should be taken into consideration in V. For example, if you shoot someone in a certain part of the body, they really should react. If we shoot someone in the leg, they start limping. If they get shot in the arm, they start holding it and shooting is affected. If they get shot in the genitals.... well you know. I've seen this in Max Payne 3 gameplay videos, but I can see how this could work for V.

yea i agree, really it was basically the same animation when you shot them, no matter where it was. if you shot them in the arm, they'd just crouch over, if you shot them in the leg, they just crouched over again and slowly walked away bent over. hopefully there will be more realism in GTAV.

i just wanna be able to kill ppl with a giant dildo and even stick it in them and watch them scream in pain XD

The engine has since been enhanced and upgraded for Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3, which both include advanced enemy injuries. I don't doubt we'll be seeing this and many other new enhancements.

Injuries are no fun. I want them to be immortal and if we start trying to shoot at them they start shooting fireballs at us and we get a 6 star wanted lvl.

RDR already has a similar injury system, shoot someone in the leg and they limp, shoot both legs, and they go down on their knee and fire from that position

Euphoria has already been far advanced with RDR and Max Payne 3, you don't need to worry about stuff like this, the game will make use of these progressing technology no doubt.

Definitely, going by what we saw in RDR & will probably see in even more detail in MP3. I think enemies in GTA V will have many more animations & better visual damage. Also injured enemies should change their plan of attack by hiding, or even retreating from a fight.

Buffalo Soldier

This was in RDR alot aswell, I loved it - it made shooting so much more fun it was bloody fantastic to see how each death happened, rather than them just falling down dead like in GTA, they would spin around if you shot them in the foot and then fall, if you shot them in the leg they would fall to the side etc

And you could SEE the bullet holes aswell when they died - with blood oozing out of them at some parts, I loved it and it really should come to GTAV.

i must say RDRs gun combat system is great - hugely fun and no two gunfights seem to be the same. As noted you get enemies shoot from sitting down - even lying down once for me - Seeing this in GTA would be awesome

But how about we take it a step further?

Enemies realise they're f*cked and flee (happens in assassins creed), or the scramble for better cover, rolling under cars or so such if injured. What if other enemies tried to help a fallen friend, to get them out of the line of fire.

GTA IV was sometimes too easy shooting, (and i am not talking/will not talk about AA) - why not see a more tactical take on things - where other enemies throw out suppressing fire while another tries to "rescue" someone you've injured - you could even use that to your advantage...

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.
