S1LV3R_W0LF
Not this sh*t again... Oh and I stopped when I saw the screen "targeted to the age of 10 and 25", I'm 28 and I play this game for long time and I think it's for older people or with a proper education level with parents that care and explain them that it's a game and was made for fun nothing else. And once again MATURE, means this is not a game for Kids, so the Media can take a hike every time they say the game is bad for kids, otherwise PLAYBOY kind channels and Movies should be banned from Society too, kids also have access to that. GourangaMaster
Haha.. Great mock up mate. well done. It would not suprise me in the least, the media is kept alive by this sort of alarmist hyperbole. Propanganda is its bread and butter and besides terrorism now with all the Occupy stories around the world, the themes that may be looked into in GTA V is bound to be an easy target for the right wingers in the media.... P.S... F*ck Fox..

The_Mario_Man
I don't really see it happening. The overall controversy surrounding GTA has been fading in general. If I remember right, San Andreas was doing just fine until somebody dug up the Hot Coffee deal. Once Rockstar dealt with it it was pretty much clear sailing. They probably sold a few hundred more copies because of it as well. GTA IV didn't have any real public outcry against it, apart from maybe a handful of crazy people. The expansions weren't any different. I'd say GTA V is safe outside of those crazy groups that nobody listens to anyway. There's tons of games with way more violence and questionable content than GTA floating around nowadays, you can pick up any random 'M' rated game and somebody crazy will find something to put in the news. Really, I'm thinking the 'videogames are destroying our youth' aspect is dying as games become more and more mainstream, and will soon be replace by whatever new form of entertainment rolls along. Same happened with Rock' n' Roll, Television, Rap music, etc.

Obvious llort
This thread got me thinking. Is it just me or are some people on here really, really stupid? On topic there will be no major controversy unless R* put something in that causes it. i.e.children.
ajrunke
Tipper f*cking Gore. Either way, GTA games have been far less violent than other games. It just gets the media hype from all forms of media because it's a blockbuster game. If GTA gets more hype about violence/perversion than the upcoming Postal 3, then I will crazy. leper73
To be honest, I don't see a major fuss being made this time around. For one, the Supreme Court this year struck down a video game ban in California as unconstitutional, and gave practically no wiggle room to even write a narrower law, so from a "government-bans-games" standpoint, we have nothing to worry about. As for public outcry, we'll hear from some of the usual culprits like Common Sense Media, the Parents' Television Council, and from the political side, Leland Yee (who wrote the above-mentioned California law) "warning" parents not to buy this game for their kids. But at this point, people know what a Grand Theft Auto game has, so it won't be the shock that previous releases were. GTA IV was relatively quiet, and even San Andreas didn't create much of an uproar until Hot Coffee. Same thing happened with Mortal Kombat. By the time the third game was announced, people knew the games would be out there, some kids will play them regardless of ratings, and they haven't destroyed our society. Like I said, we'll get some people moaning, but it won't be a firestorm unless they put in something truly heinous (i.e. killing children). I bought my 360 version preowned from EB Games and it has the "3 levels of service" and it seems more bloody too (Blood stains on Niko's clothes for example). I had the game on PS3 when it was released in 2008, so I have a basis for comparison. There must've been a patch, because the version I have now is definitely not censored. To be honest there isn't much to see. Level one is a prostitute giving Niko a handjob, level two is a blow job and level three is sex, but it's all clothed. Slamman
All that hub-bub over San An's Hot Coffee minigame kinda erupted when a California Assemblyman raised firm objections, it wasn't really on the "map" or radar at that point in 2005. I'm waiting for California to get upset as New York did over having it's city under the GTA GUN so to speak

Regardless, for the What's Trending TV reports, the GTA V trailer DID make TV news, so it's not unreasonable to assume some publicity will come of the mere mention of the game! Cole Phelps Gta
So it begins http://myona.com/2011/12/12/virginia-tech-...tlefield-3-mw3/ Ross Truett Ashley, a 22-year-old part-time college student, shot to death a police officer and then committing suicide at Virginia Tech last week. However, according to reports, the teenager was a friendly person who didn’t talk about weapons or guns. “Ross wasn’t that kind of person. He was friendly, nice,” said Nic Robinson to AP. She is a 21-year-old history major preparing for law school at Radford University, where Ashley was a part-time student. This has spark a speculation whether Ross was influenced by the recent burst of video games shooters such as Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. His style of the killing is similar to the upcoming Rockstar’s title Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5). Authorities reported that Ashley killed police officer Deriek Crouse on the Virginia Tech campus while the officer made a traffic stop on Thursday, then killed himself not long after. The reason of the killing is still unknown bad news for battfield cod and gta fans but good news for saints row fans they aren't even on the radar Edited December 12, 2011 by Cole Phelps Gta
