Anyways, finally finished Survivor mode yesterday. Got some trophies along as well, 'I Got This', 'Endure and Survive', 'Master of Unlocking', 'It Was All Just Lying There', 'Scavenger', and ofc 'No Matter What - Survior'. Currently doing Survivor plus and getting the rest of the trophies, maxing out all upgrades and Ellie's damn jokes.

So yeah, I spent some time at a pal's house today, had acouple beers, watched some taped UFC matches, he's like "Man, you played The Last of Us yet?!", I was like, "Nah brotha, I got an Xbox and I'm not too interested in TLOU".. he's like "Oh, good, well here, let's play a little bit and give me your opinion then.. because I didn't like it that much"

 

So after about 2-3hrs of playing, I came to the conclusion that yeah, I'm glad I didn't buy the PS3 recently just to scoop up this game and get fast-tracked back into PlayStation. Graphics were great, seems like it would be a cool game for fans of the genre or that type of stuff but I didn't feel immersed into it as some people talk about. I feel it lacked something .. and I really can't say what.. but it left a void. Maybe it gets better than what I've played but I had to give up.. I'll just wait for The Division and a couple other titles to release before converting over to PlayStation again.

You know what it lacked, you thought it lacked exclusivity to Xbox, that why you didn't like it, how about you play the whole game and then judge it

Not saying that it sucked or it's not something you should play. I'm just stating that it's not for me. Why do you get so offended by that? But yeah, I went against my better judgement and played it and I was right, it isn't that fun for me as it may be to you or whoever.

 

I think there will be other games out there with a post-viral outbreak or post-apoc background that will be better in the future, so I'll wait on those until a developer actually nails it more realistically. Which, The Division is already looking promising at the moment. I will say that the story for TLOU, for that short period of time did seem attention-grabbing, I liked the dialogue, just not the gameplay. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to keep me captivated.

The Last of Us is a game I enjoyed. Something that felt fun and fresh from games I've played this gen. Kinda unfair you judge the game on only a few hours of play. The beginning of the game is the slowest. Once you get out of Bill's Town it gets better. Winter ( Still my favorite ) with a lot of combat. Fall was great too. Spring was shorter but the end way more challenging than anything else in the game.

It took me over 30 hours of playing to realise you can pick up more than one thing at once by holding triangle.

I don't know but you wear Turtle Beach headphones or something and they have amazing sound quality.

 

By the way, The Last of Us so far has sold between $700,000 and 1.1 million.

Well, I finally picked this up. Beat it in 13 hours on normal, no help from the interwebs at all. This game is freaking amazing dude. I actually had the ending spoiled for me before I got it but instead of making me want it less, it actually made me more interested. Really glad I picked it up, I beat it at midnight last night and spent half an hour watching lightning and thinking about the ending... how do you choose between what's morally right and what helps the most people? Really rare to find a game that makes you think like that.

 

I'm starting Normal+ now, exploring every nook and cranny and taking my time rather than just powering through. It's a lot easier to play stealthily now that I know what people are going to do, and I'm enjoying the artifacts and conversations. I'll probably beat this playthrough then have a third run at it with walkthrough help focused on finding the last few pendants and artifacts. Too bad you don't keep your weapons in the new playthrough, I'd love to get my revenge on those damn clickers in the subway with my flamethrower.
