So after watching other playthroughs on youtube I realized I

had a pretty big glitch in my game near the end and didn't even know it when Joel and Ellie are in Salt Lake City in the Bus Depot Tunnel. Apparently

there were supposed to be bloaters and other infected scattered about in the tunnel. I had none of that.

The only ones I got were in the side rooms. So about 4-6 infected total in the whole last hour of the game. I

Played on Normal.

I was still cautious and anticipating infected but bumped into none in the sun soaked tunnel. So

it didn't really detract from the whole experience BUT obviously my moving

tactics would have differed etc. Only in the side rooms like I said. I'm sure on my second playthrough

though the game will correct itself and i'll have the infected all there like they were supposed to be.

Still pretty odd.

Do people with the season pass get DLC for free

You have to pay for the season pass, so no tounge.gif

It works out as a discount of 30% (?). I think I read there'd be one single player DLC and two multiplayer DLCs.

Played through on hard the first time, and I'm currently on a second run but this time on easy to cut down on the amount of deaths and enjoy the story more.

Winter for me is the best sequence of levels I've ever experienced in a game. The way you're switching between Ellie and Joel - who are both frantically looking for each other - I found so dramatic. The game really reaches a high point there. And I'm so glad I avoided spoilers, because the way winter started was just...wow!

When i reached the last part of the university when Joel supposedly die, i was actually fearful of Joel dying...add to that a few weeks back some troll on youtube "spoiled" the ending, the ending was apparently "leaked" and Naughty Dog hasn't "commented so far" and maybe will change the ending. Either way the ending was totally different. But when i was playing, i tried too hard to forget what the troll said....but i can't, i knew at that point i was near the ending, so seeing Joel falls down from the horse, Winter arrives with Ellie being playable i felt sad real sad, i've been so emotionally connected to ALL the characters especially to Joel.... THATS how good The Last of Us is....It's not a game.

Its Art.

I think you might have had the same thing that happened to me. A couple of times in the game I got killed, and when I respawned I was further along in the level than the point where I died.

@Rebel: I haven't seen the movie "The Road" but I did read the book and it's one of the best I've ever read. In the book you don't know what's happened to the world until midway through, and it's told in a dream by the father. I was expecting at some point in the game it would flash back to Joel and his wife when he was sleeping. I wonder what happened to her?

Seems like he was on his own with his daughter before the outbreak for quite some time. Still it would of been totally cool to see the flashbacks of previous characters before this whole outbreak sh*t happened. I'd of liked some slight insight into Ellie's parents. I mean I know they died or whatever but it would of been awesome to play a "dream mission" for her to just wake up and carry on with the main storyline

I thought the same thing, but with more of a focus on Joel's history with Sarah than Ellie's history with her parents.

I loved the idea that when Joel went to sleep in that little waiting room with Ellie he could've dreamed about perhaps being there at Sarah's football game or something like that. It'd only help draw the player in and further immerse them in the game's universe, regardless though I do like the fact that we know so little about their pasts. It helps us forget the character that they may have been before and allow us to focus on who they are and how they deal with living in the state they're in.

To be fair to us though Naughty Dog could've at the very least snuck in some hidden dialogue from Sarah, maybe when Joel gets fatally wounded we could hear her voice cheering Joel on and begging him not to stop fighting, not to give up. I know it may be a small thing but I really think that if that had happened in only a few instances during the game's story it would've added a lot while at the same time doing very little, and that if anything is what The Last of Us does so very, very well.

I'm getting sh*tloads of requests to draw Sarah and Joel.

Should I? Hmmn.

I guess I can't stop you. You and your sexually disturbed kin have to get your kicks somehow.

Moral superiority? f*cking hell, I would imagine that having a problem with pedophilic and hebephilic drawings would be the norm, not make me 'morally superior'. I don't know what age you are, but don't you find it the least bit disturbing?

I just don't really care in this case. It's goddamn fan art, not graphic pornography. I don't understand the outrage at drawings of fictional characters.

It's not hard to understand. Some of us have a problem with a grown man sexualising children, fictional or not. If he has to do it, I think it's fair to ask that he keep it out of this topic. Some of us came here to read about The Last of Us, not look at his 'fan art'.

Well perhaps if you'd have made that point a little more politely at first, he'd of a been a bit more accommodating. You did just come out and bluntly accuse him of being a pedo.

Tends to be the reaction when somebody creates fan art which sexualises children, would you really not agree?

I thought the human/infected balance was perfect. there were plenty of both but not enough to overstay their welcome. also, the winter chapter has to be my favorite chapter in that game.

Fair enough I suppose. I propose we just get back onto the subject at hand, this awesome game, before derailing this thread any further with our arguing.

The thing about the winter chapter is that you get a nice surprise and play as Ellie which completely surprised me. It has to be my favorite chapter, and seems to be rather popular.

Winter was definately a high point.

With the boss battle between Ellie and David giving us a chance to experience the "trapped in a snowstorm with a madman" trope in an incredibly unnerving and tense sequence as well as Ellie killing David and breaking down in Joel's arms while he comforts her much like he would with Sarah, signifying that final step in their journey towards true father-daughter territory.

I drew Stacey once, but it was before I had my own art style so it looked f*cking horrible. (or more horrible than usual).

Plus Dead Rising doesn't have any sweet-ass jailbait like Ellie.

I'm not going to draw Katey. :I

I'm not in the habit of being polite to those that sexualise children. His drawings were of a pedophilic nature so calling him out as such was also warranted. And like I said, if he wants to keep drawing that sh*t then I can't stop him but I'd certainly rather not have to look at it.

But yeah, I've made my point, so back on topic.

Mall's are overrated and overdone in Post apocalyptic games/movies/...

This game is just fine as it is... maybe a co-op feature would've been really fun.

The sign of a great game is when I'm thinking about at work, and I couldn't take my mind off it at work last night. This could be one of the greatest stories ever told - and I'm not just reaching for the hyperbole here, I think it's up there with the great novels, plays and movies.

That it should come in the form of a video game says a lot about where the medium has come since PONG. It also says a lot about our generation. Whereas the previous generation related to each other through the movies and television, we relate to each other through video games and the internet. The Last of Us represents the maturing of the medium, there is no doubt that video games have crossed the line between new technology and art form now.

And yet this story couldn't have had half the impact if it was told through those older media - it was born out of the video game tradition. Naughty Dog set it up so well - at a few points in the game prior to Winter you (Joel) become separated from Ellie, and you either have to fight your way back to her or protect her as she's making her way back to you - in the derelict building where Tess gets bitten, in the hotel basement, in the sniper nest and in the dam. Each time the bond grows greater between them and it's all done using 3rd person gameplay. Then when winter comes... boom you're playing as Ellie - then Joel - then Ellie again. No other medium can tell a story that way.

It's a sad and depressing game... I just finished it and I don't know what to think.

Should I feel sad? Should I feel happy? Should I feel sick? These mixture of contradictory emotions... buh. Great piece of work despite some of the gameplay/technical flaws... another masterpiece by Naughty Dog!

I finished the game a while ago, just hopping in the thread now. What an amazing game. Masterful storytelling and solid gameplay. I'll echo the others on this page in saying that Winter is my favorite chapter. So well executed. So brilliant: have the player become experienced controlling Joel, and then have the player use that experience for Ellie instead--showing that she has learned from Joel. I think this chapter proves that Ellie can pretty much survive on her own without Joel, but Joel can't survive without Ellie as the attachment is so strong at this point. The part when you carry Ellie out of the operating room mirrors the beginning with Sarah. Except Ellie lives. You can argue that Joel is selfish for doing it, but it's what gave him some amount of hope for once, I think.

Definitely one of my all-time favorite games. Up there with Red Dead Redemption.

Only issues/nitpicks were Joel's staircase animations and the slight redundancy in ladder and raft puzzles. There's so much good in this game I don't care.

Also, I can't be the only one who was hit in the feels when Ellie left Sam and Henry as they were trying to cross the bridge. "We stick together." First time I actually felt connected to a companion character in a video game. Such a surreal feeling. Don't even know how to explain it. mercie_blink.gif

I really was expecting to cry at the end, but I didn't. If Joel had tried to escape from there and Marlene killed him and took Ellie back to the surgery and the game ended there, the tears would have flowed like niagra falls...in a rainstorm.

The way I first felt at the end about Joel, was that he was only better than David, but I'm starting to just accept the way it ended now.

Grow up.

That's only one picture and it doesn't necessarily sexualise a child. The same can't be said for your other posts, including your signature. At the end of the day, I have no problem with anyone posting genuine fan art, but myself and others certainly don't want to have to look at any of your drawings that sexualise children. You can't really argue that that's not what you're doing. For the sake of us who are attracted to people our own age and find it disturbing to see children sexualised, please keep it to yourself.

Oh and it's a tad ironic of you to tell me to grow up when you're the grown man who's attracted to children.
