Just noticed the other day you can buy new outfits for Joel and Ellie? Do you unlock more cash or something when you play on hard mode or find collectables?

I guess. I thought I was thorough and scroungey as hell, looking under every nook and cranny for items but it says there are still 39 items I didn't locate. The only place I didn't get a chance to explore was the section of homes to the right of the sniper in that part where you have to flank him. I took the left section of buildings up then went into the sniping part which sort of leads you into a cutscene so I never got a chance to check the row of buildings on the right.

 

I'm not big on 2nd playthroughs these days as my game time is limited but I just might for this one.

It's the same as it was in Uncharted if you ever played it, collectibles collectibles or killing with specific weapons and much more will give you "cash"

Ye, I'm trying to get the Platinum trophy aswell. It's gonna take for ever though..

 

 

Currently I'm at week 9, so in 3 more weeks I'll have all the MP trophies. And I can start working on the SP ones I'm missing.

What are you talking about?

 

The Single player is around 13-20 hours ,depending on how good you are / playstyle.

 

The Multiplayer has given me 22 hours of fun so far, so It's been a blast and totally worth every penny

I'm usually around 100 survivors, only got up to 120 to unlock the final hat.

Hopefully I'll unlock the skull mask this time around so I can stop caring so much about hoarding supplies.

Whaaat? I finished it in 15 hours including the exploration and story and I found that the campaign was long enough.

This is not a giant sandbox with infinite missions like Skyrim. It's much more linear, but you will have to explore.

 

And it's worth all the money you have, dude.

57 hours isn't long? For a console action adventure game it is VERY long since most of them are around 8 hours

 

Yes you can free roam other places you don't need to go but it's mostly for loot

First off, in what world is 57 hours a "short" period of time? I seem to think that anything that takes up an entire day of my time or more is certainly long enough to entertain just about anyone. There comes a point where I start to wonder how people manage to get through 50 to 60 hours of gameplay so quickly.

 

Secondly, where on Earth did you get that number from? 57 seems to be far too specific guess, either you've over analysed this game greatly or you really don't know much about just how long an hour actually is perhaps even both! I'm going to go with the latter seeing as you've clearly not read or heard anything about the game at this point and have unthinkingly decided to stumble blindly into this topic posting your rather foolish and uninformed opinions in here to try and garner some sort of attention, so congratulations.

 

Thirdly, to answer your question the game's length varies depending on just what type of gamer you are. If you decide to take things nice and slow rather than just running through missions, running and gunning your way through it it make take more or less time just relative to your skill. If you've got good aim (and at the start of the game that's going to be quite tricky, but is possible) then it's highly likely you'd get through it a lot faster than someone who isn't that good at aiming, however someone who prefers the stealthy approach might avoid all those encounters that you force yourself into and as a result of that might end up making more progress in the game then you.

 

To answer your second question about the player's ability to freeroam, you can to an extent. There's nothing like Grand Theft Auto here if that is what you're looking for, this game's exploration contains many similarities to Deus Ex's and that's something that you're only going to enjoy if you like scouting out and exploring smaller, more detailed areas. In short there's no real freeroam in the game but you can explore and go through the game at your own pace, hell you can even avoid entire sections of it just by choosing to play in a different manner then you usually would.

 

Regardless, there is no definable amount of time that you could place on this game. It has a lot of replay-ability thanks to the New Game+ modes for each difficulty mode and the surprisingly deep and complex multiplayer this could easily last you a hundred hours or just ten. It's all down to just how much you want to put into the game, the more you put in the more you get out of it.

I don't care what reviewers say... this is a fresh and good breeze in the multiplayer gaming world. Yes the maps are rather small... yes the rounds and games are short but it's great fun and as long as they keep supporting it with regular updates/more content it's going to be a long lasting and fun multiplayer experience.

 

It's thus far balanced, fun and engaging. It's not "just another quick MP side of a great and compelling SP game". It's more than that. (Reviewers suck at MP gaming which is why they mostly bash great MP games or all consider them the same "crap".... or rate crap as high tier games).

Just completed the game and it took me 17 hours. Quite impressed how great it is. I'd give it a 8/10 and say this is my game of the year so far without a doubt. It's not perfect but is worth every penny.

 

Currently getting used to the online. I don't mind online been here as it doesn't take away from the single player and is quite fun. I suck at it though but I don't play online much so it's to be expected.
