How to get a Maverick in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

I have found a way to get a Maverick in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. Three cheats are required.

Cars drive on water: O, X, Down, O, X, Up, L1, L1

Pedestrians follow you: Down, Down, Down, Triangle, Triangle, O, L1, R1

Perfect vehicle handling: L1, Up, Left, R1, Triangle, O, Down, X (if you have PSP, then use the equivalent for that.)

First, have a car in your Staunton Island safehouse garage. Enable these three cheats before doing False Idols and start False Idols. Head to the western blip. Hop on the water. When you are close to land, hop on land. There will be a message saying: (Welcome to Shoreside Vale). After that, head to the blip. You will see a Maverick sitting there. Get in and out of it. Kill Faith. Then get in the Maverick. Kill the other two people. Then land the helicopter in the marker. After you pass the mission, get back in the Maverick. Take the Maverick near the Staunton Island safehouse. Get your car and shove the Maverick (diagonally) in the garage. Take the car in the garage. Get in the house and if the Maverick and car is in the garage, save the game. You have a Maverick! Use the same method with the nose of the Maverick heading south, shove it 3 to 6 square inches from the house, and you are ready to fly!

Yes. If you try it in the PSP version, the Maverick is locked but the pedestrians following you can get in it. If you try to open the door, they get in the passenger seat. So, try to open the door and when they get in quickly snipe then in the head with a sniper rifle and their body should fall out leaving the door open.

But on the PS2, you don't need to cheat at all in order to obtain the "False Idols" Maverick. You don't even need to fail the mission if you hustle.

There's an easier version to obtain that Maverick without cheats. With a PCJ 600, you jump onto a rooftop from the Shoreside lift bridge and the helicopter should pass by and you steel it.

Here's a video:

Using a tall vehicle like an ambulance, you don't even need motorcycle jumping skill. After driving to the top of the bridge, just back it up to the side of the bridge so it's rear end stays propped up. You can reach the top of the concrete pillar by jumping from that. The rest is the same (run up the girder beam past the large unsolid light and sprint jump over to the invisible rooftop to wait). It takes the helicopter plenty of time to reach there, so even a slow Yankee vehicle works.

After getting inside, Faith usually falls to her death. But ignore her for now if she didn't...and go directly to the media building to take out the other two celebs who are already en route by then...and return for her later.

You don't need cheats for PSP you can just blow it up and push it into garage check out this Special Vehicle Guide cheats are not useful for PSP or PS2 for obtaining a Maverick

For me:

Buy a codebreaker for PS2 and go here: http://forums.codetwink.com/

I use to use Day1 and the free cheat downloading strait to your ps2`s harddrive/memory card. But because of a legal dispute the IP for code breaker and the site was given to sony due to a cease and desist case. So day1 and the downloading dont work cause the original site is gone along with the server.
