J-B Posted December 3, 2011 Share Posted December 3, 2011 We might see return of Ganton with it being based on Compton and all but I doubt it'll be called Ganton. I think people shouldn't get their hopes up for LS in V being very similar to the SA version. LC in IV was miles different than it was in III. Because V is in a different era than San Andreas, which means this era is based on real life Los Angeles, and in Los Angeles there isn't a landmark or whatever its called existing. We even know or CJ comes back? acmilano Posted December 3, 2011 Share Posted December 3, 2011 They change names of all gangs from GTA3 in GTA 4(insted of Leones and Forellis we got Pegorinos and Gambettis),so they would have a gangs but under different names.And Grove Street as a street could have a treatment like Salvatore mansion and Yakusa casino in GTA 4. And I'm not sure why so many people seem to think gangs won't play a big role in the game. LA has the most gangs out of any other city in US. But I bet my hat for an easter egg! I imagine something like a rusty old street sign to be found in a trash can, or maybe an alley close to where Grove once was. Or a green bandana. There has to be a "south side" area of the city that will look similar, but it's going to be a much smaller percentage of the map and of the story. Liberty city in GTA 3 looks like its own city(minus staunton island). while GTA SA LS looks more like real life LA. not with alot of detail ofc but it resembles LA alot. I would love it if they had a conversation between grove street gang peds talking about 2 former leaders who rose grove street to the top and almost dominated the city. 73duster Posted December 3, 2011 Share Posted December 3, 2011 I'd love to see how much Grove St. has changed. I don't get why so many people keep saying it's only Los Santos. We saw ONE trailer. The game is NOT called GTA Los Santos, it's GTAV. I believe we will see OTHER areas OUTSIDE of Los Santos, based on Rockstars press releases saying that it will be the largest map yet. Grove Street SHOULD be in the game, but maybe the homes will be demolished with something else in their place. Rockstar had plenty of chances to reuse names of certain areas in IV, instead of bringing back "Bedford Point" for Times Square they called it "Star Junction." or Belleville Park was changed to Middle Park. Dude CJ was like 20-25 in SA. He would be 40+ years old at this point. No way is he running down the street in the same exact outfit as he was wearing when he was broke in 1993. However I like the idea of Grove Street returning in GTA V...not as a role in the story, but just a place to check out. I think it would be cool to see what had happened to Grove St after we left San Andreas. As mentioned before, there wasn't really anything that stood out from GTA 3 that people would really care about coming back...however I think people really loved the gangs in San Andreas. I really hope that we see the Grove Street, the Ballas, Aztecas, and Vagos to some degree...when I say to a degree, I mean I hope that if they make an appearance, they're restricted to certain ghetto areas of the city and don't really have anything to do with the actual story. Shade04rek Posted December 3, 2011 Share Posted December 3, 2011 Well think about GTA IV & the TLAD, biker gang dlc, which focused heavily on the biker gang lifestyle, which wasnt very much part of the main story... I'm so positive that we'd have GTA SA gangs in some form without it clashing with the feel of the main story. Right now I'm thinking there should be multiple protagonist with their respective stories that have their own feel, like IV + DLC. IV- Immigrant trying to come up in america, Life in a biker gang , A young, fast & rich lifestyle example in V- 40 yr man ready to try to turn life around, Young graduate working for big corporate company or something, "Grove" Gang member dealing with inner factions fighting since they've grown too big Or maybe Grove st fam grew over the years & descended into many different new gangs who fight each other.
