The Hitch
Lets not forget that completing a certain number of taxi, ambulance and police missions gave you rewards so more incentive to do them. I think the police missions were more enjoyable in the III generation too as you had to stay in your car which was something different to just driving to a wanted felons known location and killing his gang in the same way as every single mission. Slamman
My least favorite thing to do though, those missions where it gets more and more challenging. With a game like Crazy Taxi, it's just the same type of things throughout the game. I wonder will miniGames play as big a part in GTA V as in the past?? This is a rather good question to raise given the emphasis on realism now.
Tipper
And I can't be f*cked up to find and kill 200 flying pigeons to finish the game. But you can find 100 oysters, 50 tags, 50 photos and 50 horseshoes... I think the police missions were more enjoyable in the III generation too as you had to stay in your car which was something different to just driving to a wanted felons known location and killing his gang in the same way as every single mission. In the same way as every single mission? Well it's the same for every III-era game, you just follow the car, shoot it and go to the next. In IV, you had 3 kinds of missions. Meezarawcks
I think the whole "SA vs IV" debate isn't about the content of the games. It is more or less fantasy against realism. People that were turned away from IV enjoyed the more "fun" aspects that SA had to offer. GTA IV was a more gritty and realistic representation of a GTA world. While SA was more fun and games. I think both games were absolutely amazing. Unfortunately people can't see the games for what they were made for. You can't expect R* to make the same game over and over. I think it is awesome how every GTA keeps the core concepts yet reinvents it self in one way or another.
Tipper
Yeah, it's quite sad to see that only a few people seem to actually love both games.

Jimmy_Leppard
I absolutely loved GTA SA and IV. Why? Because there are times when I like more realism and there are times when I like less realism or just pure fun. Thanks to Rockstar, now I can choose. But, this thread saying ''GTA V should be more like SA'' - That's just your opinion, man. Everybody has their own opinion. In my opinion, I would prefer that GTA V is a mix of SA and IV. You know, some elements of SA and some elements of IV. If GTA V comes out and looks 99% percent like SA, I wouldn't even bother to play it cause that's like I'm playing GTA SA 2. You can't expect that Rockstar will make a new GTA completely like some previous one or 99% similar. I'm always looking forward to seeing some new elements of the game and it will definitely make me more happy than seeing some old elements getting back. Algonquin Assassin
. Are yous serious? The GTA III era vigilante missions were pretty much the same EVERY time. At least in GTA IV you could respond to a deal taking place, some lunatic roaming the streets, or a stolen car in progress. To cut a long story short vigilante missions in the GTA III era sucked and GTA IV done it A LOT better. Anyway I don't mind if some things are brought back, but honestly the best days of SA I remember now only exist in memory. The game is so boring now I literally turn it off in 10 minutes and throw GTA IV back in, because it's so much more enjoyable. I want GTA V to be a new and fresh experience. Vormek
I hate dat gangbangin' culture. You down? GTA V don't need none of that, ya hear? It all seems so fake and stereotypical, ya'll. Is just SA wid better graphics? I wouldn't tap dat. [/wigger] Hahahahahha, straight outta Compton! Hahahaa.

It grinded it self into a chore rather than a mini game. Anyway I don't mind if some things are brought back, but honestly the best days of SA I remember now only exist in memory. I have to say I agree here. Once I finished the story on my recent play through it was like hitting a spike strip. I can still turn it on and play it for like 30 minutes or so but it kinda gets boring after that. I guess IV's physics and world have spoiled SA's enjoyable for me a bit. One thing that continually bothers me is the clunky foot/fist/gun play. It hasn't aged that well , but at least it's not to the level that VC and III's combat controls have. Those game are almost unplayable for me these days.

mediocore
Why is everyone obsessed with zombie modes? You want a free roaming zombie game play dead rising! I liked SA, but I do not want the new game taking ideas from it. The fact that it's set in a small area from SA is enough to get people obsessing over having a gang culture involved without it become a HD rip off. Personally, I much preferred IV. Yes, there was less to do but the stuff that you were able to do was implemented brilliantly. With SA, I found that while it had a lot of features implemented a lot were quite half arsed. I enjoyed the customisation and I, like most people, did miss it when it was gone in IV but at the same time a lot of the customisation available was over the top (like most of the game) The skills enabled you to bunny hop over an 18 wheeler on a BMX - not cool. If anything, I want it to take the best bits from both IV and SA and then build on them to create the next step towards a perfect game.
