unseenlock
ok this is my 1st post, though i've been lurking on here since news of gtav. anyway, in the 1st trailer when the characters are going to rob the jewelry store, i think those are his kids. right before they show that scene, he is talking about his kids & says he wanted to be a typical family father "but you know how it is" then it shows him & those guys getting out. I have not seen anyone mention this, what do you think?

I did not think the voice matched the middle aged man. But as soon as i heard ned luke it was obvious
gtav876
FINALLY i know the guy leading the robbery isnt the same guy on the balcony. Hmmmm his son? maybe but i was thinking he might be his brother whos getting the main charecter in to trouble. Balcony guy looks big and buff but the guy in the robbery looks tall and kind of skinny. iGrandTheftAuto
He doesn't have kids, he said he wanted a job and a family with kids that were like kids in movies, where he could sit on the beach in the sun. Then he says but you know how it is. So those aren't his kids those are just guys that he is working with.

Rjpro123
Well could be, I mean they could go into the family business type of crime game but rockstar would get sh&t from that lawyer and parent organizations for including kids in the game even if they are older then
Chukkles
I'm thinking he doesn't have any kids yet and he is just thinking about a hypothetical life he can lead. Yeah thats what I thought too, he's just imagining that he would like to be that guy. But for what ever reason it never worked out. Here's a theory, if we are that mid age guy, do you think the girlfriends could be potential wives? Maybe he has to pick one at some point and have a kid with her. Lending to the theory of multiple protags, or atleast an endgame change over. I know it's doubtful, but what if.

TheTrooth
I totally agree with the kid's theory. I've said it before and i'll say it again. I work in editing. And things like the thing I'm about to explain are done purposely but subtly to let the viewer know something. Image and sounds. He states he 'came here, put his feet up and thought he'd be a Dad like all the other Dads. Suggesting he already is a Dad. His kids will be the ones like in TV and they'd sit in the sun and play ball. Then he says BUT, you know how it is. Suggesting things are sour, in which then it cuts to him knocking a van full of 2 people who then break into a shop together. Suggesting that him and his kids haven't got the life that he just explained he wanted, instead a criminal life. I will put money on this. And that the game is based around family business. There's no doubt about it in my mind. *Edit* Im so sure of this, I will bet this theory against someone elses for a copy of GTA V, no sh*t. The age thing, he would only have to be double there age which is completely possible, 20-25 for the 2 guys, and 40-45 for him. Sorry, but I've also edited numerous short films and I can tell you that is not the case with the GTA V trailer. The 'you know how it is' line implies that he got sucked back into doing whatever criminal activities he used to do. He was speaking hypothetically about his kids and how he wanted his life to look like, this is obvious. There is absolutely nothing in the editing that suggests that they are his kids. I can't believe that people actually think it does, and the whole editing argument is a very weak one.

Nah, of course, editing plays a huge part in things like this - and obviously the GTA V trailer has been edited like it has for a reason. I just don't see anything in the editing to suggest that those are in fact his kids. For me, it only suggests that he's going back to his old ways of making money. If your job was to intentionally give a subtle hint to the viewer about him doing heists with his kids, that could have worked like that. It just sounds a bit too absurd and unlikely, in my opinion. Jeeebuuus
For one thing those other guys in the van don't look that much younger than our guy. If he does have kids, which I think he doesn't, he talked about them as if they were 10 years old, playing ball and sitting in the sun. That doesn't sound like the behavior of those other guys in the van. They are clearly grown men.
