I dont mind an older charecter but i am wondering how rockstar will handle it. If his old he would run slow, low jump and also i though the bike will be returning but i cant imagine an old man riding around los santos on a bmx. What do you guys think, do you think rockstar can keep an old protagonist and avoid all those problems? (this also supports the theory of multiple protagonists because you might be able to play as the younger guy aswell who would look better on a bike. BTW i actually think it would be good to play as great great grandad, i wonder if this guy met john marston lol. Im only joking i think this guy would make good protagonist. If I remeber right, Tommy was around 40 him self and he did some of the most bad ass stuff in GTA, how many other people jumped a PCJ-600 from sky scraper to skyscraper all to activate a spotlight to display a giant pair of tits on a wall to advertise for the Protag’s porn studio? If the protag is the narrator/balcony guy, then I’m glad most of my fav protags have all been 30 or over (Niko, Tommy and Johnny though I do like CJ and Luis and I think they where both younger, and CJ was cool at first but IMO got old real quick, still I like him) and he sounds interesting, and like he knows the criminal life quite a bit already. There is a bmx in the game. Go and watch the trailer carefully and watch up to the guy putting in a for sale sign and look at the backdoor of the house there is a bicycle. While I'm here, I'll go ahead and point out that even if bikes are in the game, doesn't mean you will be required to ride them. I personally found it odd in SA seeing CJ in a monster truck. So a guy in is forties on a bike is nothing. I'll also point out that Narcis has a very good point. IF that's him he will probably be mid to late 40s, not in his 80s. Tipper Posted December 2, 2011 Share Posted December 2, 2011 Johnny wasn't very young, he ran relatively slowly and it didn't bother me at all in TLAD. Besides in the trailer, you can see the "old" guy during the robbery, he doesn't seem slow when he kicks the door. Now about the bicycles, it's a kid's vehicle, so no matter if the protag is 20 or 40 he'll still look stupid on it. And who wants to ride bicycles (with no radio so no music) when you have motorbikes available in the game that are faster, more enjoyable to drive and allow you to listen to some music? Good thing San Andreas only made us ride bikes twice in the whole storyline. And if you remember some of the movies you've watched or games you've played, you'll find that middle aged men usually make good main characters in action movies/games, because having been through a lot in the crime business, they tend to have less remorse and be very violent when in action. Niko Bellic runs like... well, I don't know, but he's FAST. Luis Lopez (?) runs... A bit like Johnny. (jks) Anyhow Johny just ran slow because he limped, Motorcycle accident or something. Anyhow he wasn't that old he was 34 I think, I mean Niko wasn't much younger and he was 30/31. On topic, I kinda agree with the OP. I really don't wanna protagonist that middle-aged. Id rather a much younger protagonist (mid 20s to early 30s). That guy in GTA V who is presumed to be the protagonist looks like he's in 40s, and if that's the case, I'm gonna feel a lil' disappointed. Anyway, there is still very little we know, so we will see. In the next game they will make the protagonist a nerdy teenaged college student on the sole fact that the Faggio exists in the game. Or maybe R* will drop and rewrite the whole character as a Jamaican reggaeton due to the fact that K-Jah is in the game. You know, since tiny obsolete features have the final say in important things like that. Makes sense. Ride the god damn bike as the old guy. You're the one playing the game. Those are two different people, it IS possible for old people to get tattoos or work out, you might not be able to get tattoos at all in the game, you don't get tattoos at a gym either way, he's not too old, etc. Go watch The expendables, or the last Rambo movie, or The Godfather, or go fight someone in their forties that did even just a little bit fighting when they were younger.
