lol Some of you guys really need better social lives. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm not 'excited' from seeing a one minute trailer about a game that's going to be coming out like several months/years from now.

This is a GTA forum.

Tons of people are very excited for the next GTA.

What is strange about that? And how does it translate to one's "Social life"?

Stop making people feel bad for playing video games.

Thanks.

lol, he just wants to seem "cooler" than the rest of us. That's the internet for ya.

Me personally, I really cant wait for GTA V. I would freeze myself like Cartman did waiting for the Wii, and I'd have someone thaw me out once V is released. I would seriously do this if it was possible.

Here is my 2 cents on this subject.

GTA IV had an INSANE amount of HYPE for it prior to it's release. That it could never live up to.

For obvious reasons:

-The GTA game franchise was coming off it's legendary ground breaking open world success from the PS2 era with GTA III, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas.

-This was the first GTA game on the new consoles for this console generation.

-R* are masters at building HYPE for all of their games.

-GTA IV before & after it released was getting perfect 10 score from literally every major gaming website & gaming media magazine.

Then a lot of us GTA fans got our hands and played the game and was greatly disappointed with it. Key word in that last sentence is "a lot of us GTA fans". Not all of us.

The point I'm saying is that with GTA IV the GTA game franchise whether we like it or not was due for a let down at some point in the series.Every major successful game franchise at some point goes through it.

That's what happened with GTA IV.

I respect your OPINION. icon14.gif

I like the direction GTA is heading. More serious makes better storytelling.

I think people were expecting too much with IV. I think with IV they were really trying to rebuild the series by starting it off in a new direction i.e. heightened realism while trying to maintain soul. They probably had to leave out certain aspects of SA in order to 1. Test what the new consoles were able to do. 2. Focus on the revolutionary innovations of the new engines. 3. Save somethings for the next game to keep people excited. IMHO.

The most excited I was 4 a game would be San Andreas when it first came out, I got it the first day running home from skool in exitment. I played that mofo for a long time haha, when gta 4 came out I would be as equally excited but I got so disappointed and pissed when they delayed it for like anOhter year angry.gif

What's wrong with being excited for 1 game per 3-4 years? (I wasn't even half excited for EFLC cause it was an addon)

Go say these things to people who're excited about every damn shooter on market.

GTA Iv was my most hyped game of all times. This game is going to be great but GTA IV was so amazing because it was the first gta game this gen. We already know what to expect with GTA V.

I have learnt to control my expectations for games. Yes sometimes I might think about stuff, that I like, but it will never be in the game that im thinking about, or read "leaked" info thinking that it may be true.

GTA is an extremely successful series, so you have to expect that people are going to lie about what's in the game and post fake pics.

People expected the second coming of jesus with Gta IV. I'm telling you, people forgot it was a game. A game with limitations at that. I loved Gta IV

I am very excited for Gta V also. When we get more information, screenshots my imagination is going to go wild.

I get that every time something that looks promising in the games industry is announced, then all the speculation starts because it takes ages to come out and people actually have amazing ideas of what might be and when the final product comes out it is cool but far from all the dreaming that was created during the waiting and then we think for ourselves "why did i moved here? ... i mean what was I so hyped about?"

I was excited when the trailer was released, but it's just moderate now. I don't get as excited for games like I used to, but I'm still looking forward to it.

So with GTA5 no matter how many grand ideas I hear on these boards I expect no more then this:

map size will be about the same size as SA

No.. it definitely won't.

Not since VC, SA, and IV. Even though IV kinda let me down. Gotta say San Andreas was most excited I've ever been so far.

Snake Without a Tongue

I was more excited for IV. V will be awesome, no doubt, but IV was something utterly new. Also, I've got a lot of health and financial crap going on in my life.

I have been excited for many games in my life, but only extremly excited over games from R*.

GTA IV and RDR was really over the top excitement. I read everything i could find about it, watched trailers hundreds of times etc.

Now it is GTA V.

Not that excited. The trailer actually disappointed me because it returned to a previous city yet again. I don't understand that reasoning, not when Rockstar wan't us to wait many years until a new title comes out. By this rate we might never see a new city again.

Secondly, the information which followed the trailer one day later was even more disappointing. When they specifically mentioned 'LS and its surrounding hills and countryside', I took that in the literal sense. I didn't interpret it like other people did, so I am not going to speculate extra locations. For the time being it seems like a GTA IV + countryside combination.

Maybe this is the best way to react to information. That way I won't get disappointed when the game comes out. It's better than lifting your hopes so high, like I'm sure most of us did before GTA IV came out, and then realized meh, it's getting boring after a while.

Last time I was this excited for a game I guess was when GTA IV was reveled, and I'm 500* more excited for V as we will finally get some nature, woodlands and maybe even a desert and probably a lot of new stuff, customizations etc.

I don't believe I have - IV was actually pretty much the first game that I really, really got into so of course I'm hyped as hell for V, way more than I was for RDR or anything like that.

i don't think no one was excited on any other game like this

because everyone love this franchise alot.

if u want proof go check out the views on the trailer it self, it got more than 8 million views in the first 3 weeks which blew my mind

and there are official websites just to put rumors and other information on this game.

this game is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet tounge.giftounge.gif

I'm EXCITED. If i was a dog my tail would be wagging uncontrolably, if i was a cat i would be purring so much my eyes would be vibrating. If i was a pig in mud......... well lets just leave it at that.

I was actually also excited alot to play every episode of Back to the Future. Not because of gameplay but because of the story. It still can't be comparedto GTA 4,5 though.
