I'll probably get excited on another next gen gta. I completely disagree! I personally thought GTA was a step away from the GTA norm, and was extremely disappointed in it. I have become a big fan of the fun cheats that previous entries in both series have used in their past games. Cheats like Evil cars, low gravity, ped riot, peds w/ guns, etc. Those cheats kept me playing previous titles for YEARS, right up 'til the launch of the next game in each series. Unfortunately both, GTA IV & SR3 left out those cheats, seriously diminishing replay value for me. So, while I am excited for GTA V, I have greatly lowered my expectations this time. Now, Vice City! There was a Game. There was something I got excited for. I stayed home from school for it. You can even look back to when VC came out and look at my posts, look at how excited I was! suicidehummer Posted December 2, 2011 Share Posted December 2, 2011 I remember going nuts waiting for SA because of all the cool new features and the vast scale compared to VC. Not so much for IV but once I played it the physics blew my mind. I get the feeling V will have me as excited as SA again, if not more, because I love the setting and I get the feeling V will have a ton of cool details like SA did. I honestly haven't been this excited since the wait for IV. I wasn't that excited prior to RDR and it turned out to be one of my favorite games of all time. I got quite excited for Vice City, and a fair amount more for San Andreas. To be honest, I wasn't even aware of IV until about half a year after it was released... With GTA IV in mind, and for RDR, that still I recall in Joseph X's topic, that had me hooked thinking of the possibilities for Red Dead Red. It turned out to be just that good...maybe even better! D-man7 Posted December 3, 2011 Share Posted December 3, 2011 I learnt my lesson with GTA4 , after reading all the web articles and perviews and watching trailers and posting on boards my hype was mega high, but I then read the GTA4 preview edtion of EDGE magizine( I think the article in it was 10 years in the making) and after reading the interview with dan houser my hype level reacched un achievable expectations I remeber thinking how the animations and recation of the cops and NPC's were going to be on a whole new level e.g niko is driving along and taps a cop car with your bonnet you do nothing, The cop walks out with a pissed off look and comes over and fines you, or your shooting it out with cops and you plug an officer in the leg hes there screaming , and crawling along the ground. When you expect that level of deetail and imersion your are going to be dispointed. With all the forum specualtion and blown out interviews that GTA games get it is very easy to create unrealistic expectations, I learnt that wiht GTA4. So with RDR I sadi to myself its going to be gta4 but with a horse and in the dessert and I was pleasentky surprised. So with GTA5 no matter how many grand ideas I hear on these boards I expect no more then this: map size will be about the same size as SA the only real differences we will see are: graphics + gunplay improved car handling improved maybe slightly more extensive customisation options (but judging by the direction RDR went in R* seem to cutting back the players ability to customise the character,and focus more on the characters personality and story) That is what I expect with GTA5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I mean, we barely have any information on V, plus its release date is still very far away. I think even looking forward to an October release date is optimistic, as Rockstar seems to only release one game per year. And, if they ever happen, I am really excited about the next Red Dead, and the next Batman game from Rocksteady. EDIT: And, Halo-f-ing 2. Let's not forget that massive disappointment. I'm sorry, but I pistol owned everyone in Halo:CE and Halo 2 just ruined every-damn-thing. N00bs rejoiced when Halo 2 came out. I cannot believe I stood in line for that piece of trash. Now IV kind of ruined me for anticipation and excitement because of the things we were seemingly going to get, then we didn't. I look forward to it and love discussing possibilities, but i'm not getting overhyped like before. Besides we still have so much of a wait. The main reason I come here most nights is becasue I work nights with little to do. Otherwise it'd be half hour a day having a little check up. If you were to take the time to search my posts you'd see I was all over here before IV came out, and whilst playing it, but I kinda dropped off the forum for a good 2 years.
