SmC12
Do admit though, I'm still a kid when it comes to seeing snow. I love how it can be like 2 in the afternoon, yet everywhere is completely dead, apart from the odd taxi going down the road at 1mph. And the red tinted sky. Agree with this. The christmas and winter atmosphere just isn't the same without the country coming to a standstill! A nightmare for some, but I love it. Just checked and apparently snow is forecast for this weekend, kind of a mixture of sleet/snow so not sure how heavy it will be. Proper snow showers are showing for the start of next week though, -2C to about 1C average. Looks promising.
Slamman
By the end of January, there'll probably be SOMETHING more significant. Snowmobiling and skiing are staples of winter... I neglect ice skating and hockey, although I don't skate or ski anymore, I'd enjoy snowmobiling though
Stuntzman
Not a sight of snow, last year at the same time there was snow and -9 Celsius.
GTA_stu
Hated it last year with all the snow. It would take as long as an hour and fifteen minutes to walk home from uni and in the freezing cold as well. I remember one particular day after being in at (had to set off at 7.30!) 9 until 5.30 and I still had over an hour to trudge home. Was an absolute blizzard, and by the time I got home I'd had to eat one of my feet to survive. That was a lie, but it was bloody freezing!
darthYENIK
I woke up seeing this news from Sunny California, Santa Ana!! Let's hear from the GTA fans living out where Los Santos actually resides! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/01/s...1_lnk3%7C117134 It's really nice out here. 65 degrees, sunny, and there was that one day of strong wind, and today is still a little windy, but other than that, it's perfection. trip
The past two winters here have sucked as far as snow. Way too much of it. It has been unseasonable warm here as of late, so I fear we are going to be paying for it later in the season. The one thing I really like about the snow is how it brings everyone together around here. Since I live in a city, we are all very used to everything being within walking distance. During big storms there are just packs of people walking in the streets going from store to store. Everyone always seems so happy and full of smiles. The one thing I really don't like about snow is what it does to my heating bill. The first winter I was in this house, I wasn't fully aware of the serious lack of insulation. I actually had an $800 gas bill for one month of heat. I have since learned my lesson. Oh oh oh....hey, you know the steps that Rocky runs up in the first Rocky movie? They let us sled down those steps in the winter. Totally crazy fun, and I can't believe we are allowed to do it. Kwandilibro
Well Jersey and Connecticut, and parts of upsate I think got significant snow in October. Apparently some places had damn near two feet. White Halloween, I guess. I didn't even get a coating. I'm hoping for a nice amount of snow this winter, since I make money off of shoveling for old folks.
Mr.Mister
Winds were 90km/hr recently but it has died down. Barely any snow on the ground but tons of ice. Quite the moderate winder so far. Just hovering around the freezing mark. It was around -15 when it snowed like 2 weeks ago Whats up with the americans getting more snow than us
Notna
It's ridiculous that it's already been snowing in the States, but it's yet to in Finland, or at least Southern Finland, where I live... It's actually quite frustrating, it hasn't even been frosty here for less than five times this "winter", which makes it impossible to have any outdoor rinks or a general winter atmosphere 'round here.I actually like snow, ice and the frost so it's really getting on my nerves. No snow here in Western Finland, too. I am really going nervous, cause there's no christmas without snow.

JoeyLeone25
Its going to snow, why would it not after 3 years of snow every winter in England, for it to suddenly stop? What makes me angry is the fact we've had 3 years of this sh*t come winter and all those times we were not prepared enough due to not having enough funds to buy gritters/other snow sh*t. You'd think this being the 4th year they may have invested some money into such things, I don't see it going smoothly though. They had to close Heathrow runway for what 4 days or something last year just due to the fact they weren't prepared. sh*ts going to hit the fan. I'm just hoping I wont have to drive in it so much since it sucks ass. Nobody bothers to come round on the back roads or even some of the main roads to villages to grit them. England is terrible when it comes to 'weather'. Autumn always sees trains cancelled due to leaves on the line, and then winter sees the whole country grind to a halt due to being unprepared, even with all the weather reports and whatnot. Do admit though, I'm still a kid when it comes to seeing snow. I love how it can be like 2 in the afternoon, yet everywhere is completely dead, apart from the odd taxi going down the road at 1mph. And the red tinted sky. You can call me Scrooge in regards to snow falling. I hate the stuff. Due to where I live, even a bit of snow can make the terrible roads (ah, so I essentially pay you Mr Governmentt upwards of £130 a year for...?) inaccessible in my area, therefore it stops me training, socialising and most importantly, working, which is one hell of a kick in the teeth, especially during Christmas. SmC12
Its been snowing here today, kind of heavy. And its forcast for the rest of tonight and through tomorrow. Finally! Oh yeah "we have a fleet of gritters" - what about the millions of pounds worth of grit you said was available last year lol. The government should just let the country come to a hault, it's much more fun. Edited December 4, 2011 by SmC12

Cursed
Just had a bit of sleet here in Newcastle under Lyme. I'm hoping we don't have another "severe" winter this year since I'm learning to drive and walking further to get to college.
vertical limit
We're apparently due snow at some time next week Dude that is awesome news for me. The last time I saw snow was in the 90s when I was 3 years of age, I was born in Switzerland. I don't remember it much except in the photos. The coldest temperature I have ever experienced was 1 degree Celsius. The coldest artificial temperature I have ever experienced was -2 degrees. I agree with Whiskey. Twang.
It started snowing like balls last night. Took me an hour to get home, 35 miles away in the dark. But at least I made it. This morning, I found my way in to the ditch (took out a road sign, lul), just said "f*ck it" and called in. That said, I love snow and winter...just not driving in it. AlexGTAGamer
The latest weather reports are saying that snow may be on the way in the West Country either at the end of this week or next week. The local council say that they are prepared for snow fall stocking up on grit, but I bet they won't have things in hand.

Tracksuit Hitman
I don't know if it's true or not, but people are saying it's snowing down here in Manchester, UK. I've just checked up on Facebook now, and there seems to be a few statuses popping up on my news feed which are saying it was snowing heavily not so long a-go in the Manchester area. A few people said it stuck, but then the rain 'got rid' of the snow. Apparently it's just started again, at a moderate level and is sticking due to the lack of rain showing now. The news said that it wasn't going to snow for the foreseeable future, and once again the news was wrong. I doubt they'll be able to get rid of most of it, too. Last year they said they had enough grit and equipment to get rid of the large quantity of snow, yet most of the Manchester area's were closed of due to the high amount of snow which left people stranded, and caused many businesses and schools to close for a short time (some for 1-2 months) until the snow 'calmed down'. It happened on the 30th November last year, and it was only a matter of time until it happened again this year. I'll wait until the morning until I have a look for myself. aka geobst
Viperman
Dusting yesterday morning around Edinburgh. Couple of inches this morning. Getting there - [- No Fear. No Limits. No Equal. -] - - [- Ride For Life -] - Digging deep. It's not just an expression that's thrown around the locker room at halftime. It's a way of life. A daily code that drives a champions existence. It's not always glamorous. It's not always blue skies and sunny days, and its certainly not always welcome. But love it or hate it, to become a true champion take pure, unrestricted commitment. SmC12
Some very heavy snow throughout today, still quite heavy now. It was great cause around 10am this morning it was starting to melt away and then some heavy snow started and filled the streets again. I almost felt bad for the guy who had just put grit on the roads an hour earlier. This weekend is supposed to bring very heavy snow and cold weather. They're saying this is just the start of the 'cold snap' which will continue throughout the rest of the month, and it will be especially bad due to the so far above average weather recently. So Yay! Snow!
KilnerLUFC
I'm buggered if this snow gets any worse, since I have to travel down the country in a few weeks. It can snow after this, heavily, by all means, but not before I set off.

Well, from what I know, we haven't had any settle in the Huddersfield/Dewsbury area, though my friend who lives in nearby Bradford couldn't make it in to college today. Apparently, a lot of roads in his area were bad.
