x kgSully x
The thing I have been looking at is the driving in GTA IV on grass and the sand. It's terrible, you slide every which way and no matter the vehicle or RWD/AWD layout you always have too little traction. Being a game with a countryside, do you think they'll beef up the physics off road? I noticed the Jeeps in the trailer and I'd say they probably did. I would love to go offroading :] maybe there's a quad?
locolow2011
Yeah i think so too, the driving on and off road seem to be greatly improved in the trailer, on IV you lost control real easy. Vegetarian Piranha
yea i hope there are some propper 4x4's, quads, dirtbikes, buggies etc. i agree, the off road terrain felt too soft, always sliding everywhere, sh*t all traction. it was a complete mess although i liked going on the 4x4 track with the possibilty i might fall in the water. (do you know it?).
Jeeebuuus
I was thinking about this since I saw the trailer. Yes, I think off road vehicles will play a bigger role as well as improved euphoria and rage engines.
x kgSully x
I would love to go rock climbing in the mountains, on multiplayer with some friends. Maybe mud riding...? GTA IV was fun to "rock climb" even though the only place that you can really make it look like you were was on the beach, but the suspension and driving on the rocks always fascinated me to see how far physics has come. Vegetarian Piranha
@x kgSully x we should 4x4 together on mp, but only problem is there are no hummers and they are the best to rock crawl/climb with. do the police get hummers in mp?
x kgSully x
That'd be sick, And I think you can get them in Multiplayer, just not too sure where. I kinda like car physics, always been interested since they came out with IV. Also the quad if it does make a return would be awesome if they had ATV trails. Vegetarian Piranha
kgSully, you certainly like your off-roading. have you played Off Road Drive?
J-B
I'd be very surprised if they didn't improve the offroad aspect of the vehicle physics with all of the country side it seems that V has.
x kgSully x
Veggie, I'll call you that No I haven't but sometimes we go offroading, either on a ATV or a friends truck, and in GTA IV I always loved how the suspension travels and reacts in a similar way to real life And with the countryside and mountains in mind, I'm positive they did improve it, it was one of the only major problems in IV but that retains to the fact there isn't much of a "Countryside" in it
Vegetarian Piranha
i went off roading through all this mud and water, i swear ive never had so much fun in my life, i was covered in mud from neck to toe (helmet). when playing RDR i always wished i could have a 4x4, quad or dirtbike to use, i loved the RDR landscape. x kgSully x
Im gunna point to the trailer where they're on the mountain, hiking. I wouldn't doubt that you could get a vehicle up there This game will be very interesting, and I'd hope they release more info or a Q,A soon

Glamus
I want offroad multiplayer GTA Race in the mountains, on snow and about anywhere in that beautiful landscape. I really hope we will be able to enjoy snow driving in the mountains with some dangerous cliffs underneath.
Exxon
The only thing I hate about IV's handling is that the car jumps every goddamn place! Just download DesertIV at the Maps section, race there and you'll see that when there's a bump, you'll jump a few meters The sliding isn't bad, I like it. Besides this, IV's handling is pretty nice. I like how it is, as if it's just meant for pc
redlinehost
I hope it is improved somewhat. IV seems (to me) nearly perfect. Yeah some of the terrain could be reworked, but it is still fun to go offroading. I am sure offroad vehicles will make a return. Since SA had rail buggies, tractors, quads, and mt bikes, I am sure V will as well. Especially after seeing all that rugged terrain in the trailer. visionist
In IV even SUVs & 4x4s were RWD only. Try a burnout & see They need to fix this obviously. (Waits for a mud plugger to reply with "All 4x4s only spin up the rear tyres off the line! WTF man! Call yourself a Car Guy?!" )
redlinehost
If you take the Sultan RS and hold the handbrake, Give it full throttle, and let off the hand brake all 4 tires will spin. Huntley is the same way. The Bobcat says 4x4 on it, but it is only RWD, so I agree they should fix that. But for the most part, all the vehicles that have a .5 bias in handling.cfg pull on all 4 wheels.
squaredb
I'd be very surprised if they didn't improve the offroad aspect of the vehicle physics with all of the country side it seems that V has. My desire is probably too much to ask in such a jump though it would be bad ass if R* put a bunch more work into vehicle deterioration. Imagine driving along and rather than just a wheel popping off or a locked up differential, your whole axle could be ripped to pieces or one could snap a drive-shaft. This would add much character and make certain vehicles such as 4x4's/AWD a necessity. Plus while flying through the desert if the driver meets up with a boulder or sinkhole from someone buried six feet under, picture the destruction caused by a roll over similar to the Flipping Motorcycle Guy from Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. suicidehummer
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the scene with the wind farm where a truck is seen driving on a dirt road and kicking up some serious dust. That made my day when I noticed that. Looks like they have definitely reworked the offroad physics.

TrialzGTAS
There arent any Hummers in Free mode, they have to be brought in via a modder. With all the new terrains that are being brought back, you jst have to know that buggies and quads have to be returnin! Hopefully the Hummer will be in Free Mode for GTA V!
