My question is should rockstar close the airports until you gain xp like they did on gta sa, or like in gta iv, if you enter it youll have 4 stars ._. Personally, i loved entering the liberty cit airport in IV but when i see al the f*cking cops and helicopters behind me i was f*cking angry. Then i went to online so cops dont come and touch my balls in the airport xD Whats youre thoughts ?

Whats xp?

By "XP" he means expereince points.

In GTA San Andreas, you could only gain access to the airports after you leveled up your flying skill enough. Personally, I say NO.

Not the XP you get in RDR, Experience Points, that's not likely to register in a GTA game, but as you progress in missions, that kind of thing would unlock, Nothing new to old San An players, is it??

The 5 protagonist idea, if reality, would allow various character traits and backgrounds, making it reasonable that one protag you play as could have unique flying skills and instruction

I think that airports should be closed until you get a pilot's license or something like that

I agree but will there even be schools any more like flying or boat school? How else could you get the pilot licence?

Alot of people said the flying lessons mission was too difficult so they might not even put it in the next game. If the protagonist is that old guy, maybe he already has a pilot licence?

I think pilot schools will be in the game. The planes will definately have a learning curve to them like the helicopter in IV. It also adds to the minigame idea and gives you something to work towards.

Loved playing the school missions like driving school. Hope there will be pilot schools again and that you have to fly a number of hours for keeping your pilot's license valid.

Anyway I don't think this will happen.

I hope it's like SA rather than IV. I hated how you got the FIB on your ass just for entering it. That runway was one of the few decent sized locations where you had room to maneuver and drive reckless without crashing, but that damn wanted level got in the way of my enjoyment. Hopefully this time around we'll have more freedom. Now I do like restricted areas, but the airport doesn't have to be one of them.

I wonder how they'll stop you from actually getting in, cause it was easy in SA by just parking a car and jumping over the fence

Yeah, I remember doing that, it was fun to break in to the airport. Didn't you get wanted stars, I don't remember how many.

They didn't think that through very well when they built the map. dozingoff.gif

GTA IV gets you wanted stars when you enter the restricted area of the airport is because GTA IV is trying to based on

POST 9/11. So by heading into the airport (where the planes are) then you're consider to be a terrorist with the

possibility of hijacking a plane and crash into a building.

I've head that pre 9/11 you can even get a chance to visit the cockpit, now it's off limits and pilots carry firearms?!

SA it was super easy to break into all 3 airports. I think a system across between IV and SA would be great. You can still get in but you have to stop at the gate like it was a toll booth. If you don't have a pilots license, they don't open the gate, but you can drive through it. When you do that you get a wanted level. If you drive through it with a pilots license, that is with out stoping then you get a wonted level. If you have a pilots license and stop the guy will open the gate and you can procede with out a wanted level. You won't get a wanted level if your in the airport with a plane or helicopter eather, say if you land there.

But in IV did anyone notice that you only got wanted in the airport in places you wouldnt normaly be able to go even if you were driving around a real airport in a car. You get wanted if you go by the helicopter's because that's like a military hanger where the goverment has their aircraft. You get wanted when you drive on the runways, because cars don't belong on runways. You can still drive around the lear jets that are parked, and the roads around the bulding. I belive if you get acess to the airport in real life when your on foot, or in a car your restrickted to the area's where people who own planes like lear jets park them. You also have to show a pilots license to get in anyways. But you probaly would get in alot of truble if you go on the runways by just driving on them. Who knows what terrorist act you may pull off.

As mentioned before, I'd like for the wanted level at the airport to go, unless you perform hostile or terrorist activities, and for there to be a pilot's license required to fly civilian aircraft. But for you hardcore few who play like bosses, the military aircraft are at your disposal, if you dare.

There isn't anywhere to fly, so I don't see the reason to have an airport.

Well, you can't have an LA without an LAX haha

And planes allow for quick travel across maps. I heard the map will be bigger than RDR's map. Not sure if it's true, but if it is, that's one big ass map.

There isn't any source. I just thought negatively because San Fierro and Las Venturas are not going to be in the game, so I didn't really see a point in airports.

Well, just because there might not be another city 1.5 miles away like in GTA SA, the map will be big with a more realistic scale. Seems likely. Plenty of places to visit via fixed wing or auto-gyro if you so please. Airports don't only exist in bustling metropolitans, they are all over the place.

Plus I can't wait to land a dodo in the desert, explore some geology and take back off. (yeah I said it) Maybe I'll make that cooler by doing a little hunting while I'm there.

Actually there was a wall you could park next to and jump over from your car roof and get a Dodo or learjet/Shamal as soon as yout turn your game on.

So as long as there is a spot to get in I wouldn't care if it was closed off.

But they want realism and a closed off operational airport doesn't fit.

Yes, you should unlock it after playing a certain mission. I hate having everything from the start. Make me earn It. I want an awesome reward after all my hard work

I would like to have the same security/police attack if you enter, like GTA 4, but have the ability to get a pilots license to get inside/to the air strip.

Would love a system where with the more time you spend flying you level up, therefor becoming easier to fly.

Level 1 - 5: Tough to fly small planes, helicopters - near impossible to fly everything else

Level 5 - 10: Easier to fly the small planes / helicopters, tough to fly medium planes, near impossible to fly 'large' aircraft / fighter jets.

Level 10 - 15: Very easy to fly small planes / helicopters, easier to fly medium planes, difficult to master jumbo's / cargo planes, very hard to fly fighter jets.

...and so on.

Also what about the idea of having a cargo plane, which you could load up with 1-5 vehicles, to take to another part of the map?
