dansgas1000
Snow would be great in GTA V. Not as a mod. Also how should lightning be displayed? Should it just be a plain flash or should it be the proper lightning bolts? Maybe lightning could strike building occasionally --- and at night the lights in the building go off for a few seconds? What do you guys think? Slamman
As Rockstar has done this generation with Red Dead Red, that's how you're likely to find snow in a GTA game as well, not a full range of seasons, as mentioned In another Thread...already. The rain effects for RDR, also Rockstar Games, were pretty immense. I'd expect some variation between GTA and RDR, and not a grand departure
Brown Sugar
I wouldn't be surprised if there was snow in the mountain area we saw, but it is set in Los Santos so apart from that why would there be, there was snow in rdr and we have seen the snow in max payne 3 videos R* released. Toml123
Differant types of snow... Light powdery snow that sets and melts, Heavy snowfall that makes driving difficult. Lets see working wipers that clear the windshield. Make it possible to be stranded in the snow, Shops closed, public transport canceled. That would be an amazing touch and make the game worth every penny. Sheet lightning, And lightning bolts that actually strike and set fire to things, Dodge those strikes
Slamman
Being realistic to the game tech, you can't have melting snow, a true seasonal shift is like asking for a holographic GTA at this juncture
koolkid09
No snow in Los Santos... Maybe at the top of that mountain though.
Toml123
Could be possible, Mafia II had snow that drifted and melted off of car roofs know its not rockstar. but it is possible
Speetix
Goddammend! I was making the same topic XD Well my topic idea was to make a Season-system: It's a system that is compatitible with the missions If you don't refull mission 2, the season wouldn't make progress. The missions need to be conherent with the seasons/weather. For example: It starts. It's christmass and the missions are conherent with the weather/season. If the mission is in the time when you can see it's christmass; it need to snow. Something like that and sorry i'm not good with english words so maybe someone others can work my thoughts more out. PJ Awesome
Could be possible, Mafia II had snow that drifted and melted off of car roofs know its not rockstar. but it is possible because it snows all the time in California right? where the f*ck do you live? SGT. Johnson
OMG. Not another one! This is like the 3rd thread I've seen regarding weather. I would report but I see you add lightning instead of just snow. Snow Unfortunately, we are in an area where snow is virtually non-existent due to the tropical weather. I would only expect snow in the mountains as others have said. Lightning This could be improved upon. There was hints of lightning in GTA IV when it rained. The sky would light up and your controller (Xbox 360) would shake. They could do a little more with this, perhaps they can make lightning shown through the sky during a thunderstorm. Second, may be they can incoroprate lightning into animation and make it more interactive with the environment. In other words, lightning can hit tress and cause fires. MarshDanni
I don't know it kinda doesn't fit in a gta game but whatever
PJ Awesome
I can't say that it "Doesn't" fit GTA^ I for one would love to see snow, but lol...learn your geography guys, or common sense..
Toml123
They do they its "reimagined" though maybe they wont use the logic of geographicalness
MrcTOtheJ
Well I don't see snow happening, if it was LC then yeah falling snow (that would stick and accumulate like in a few mods I've seen) would fit, but this is in Los Santos, based off of real life LA...snow dosen't happen to much there. Now maybe some snow in the mountains since it's been confirmed that country side is in, but nothing more. About other weather, I can see rain working like in RDR, nothing to far ahead of it, but RDR like Slamman said was pretty advanced in how rain would form puddles etc. Lightning should be improved upon too, so you can actually see strikes and not just flashes, also they need to have it so there's light rain and not every time there's rain have it be a thunder storm, that always irked me in past installments of the franchise, I mean it'd start off without lightning and then not long after the start it's a full on storm...I mean R* it rains without lightning for gods sake. Matty
I highly doubt there will be snow in Grand Theft Auto V except as already mentioned; at high altitudes. I also can't see seasonal changes occur in Grand Theft Auto V either. Because Los Santos, is based off of Los Angeles; which is generally warm and sunny all year round, it would be pretty pointless to have changes in seasons, in my opinion. TheGreene2010
Since GTA V real life counterpart's best seasons are the spring and summer seasons, so we may see one of those seasons. That would mean snow for the most part is a no go. If anything I'd like the duststorms to make a return. Something realistic though, not duststorms that feel like fog. What if you were driving down the rural roads and seen this coming! http://30.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lnw6lusX...z7as5o1_500.jpg
Slamman
To me, on the surface, it just looks like they're going from one rather overcast, dingy locale to a really nice, seasonal getaway spot. California is as said, typically nice all year round. Not much of a weather system issue, but things are changing somewhat with the Global Warming trend (Don't get Holy Grenade Frenzy started!!) haha
grope_4_that_date
Snow just won't work in Los Santos. It's a shame really, because it's such a great idea. I wonder why they didn't do it in IV? They've obviously thought about it, as in GTA San Andreas, you return to LC in Winter.
Slamman
I remember Snow rumors about GTA IV because of the analysis of the still images from the city we were allowed to view beforehand. Mount Chilliad ...that leaked test video footage showed plenty of snow near it's summit. We'll see I'd say
douggoud
Seeing as I live about an hour from LA, and seeing as it hasn't snowed out here in 6 years (even that was barely anything, and it was slush, it sucked), and it only snows about every 25 years.......yeah, gonna have to say no. On what is most likely Mount Chilliad however, probably.
