My GTA IV is in russian and i dont hav the American.gxt file

SO can Any 1 please upload the AMERICAN.GXT FILE ??

First, GTAForums is NOT a file sharing site for Original game files as they are copyrighted. Sharing Original game files is against the Forum rules, as ALL the files needed for the game are on the 2 DVD's the game comes on.

 

Next, ALL languages are in the text folder(I just double checked that), So, a simple un-install and re-install will get all the original files back for you. If you do not have all the files, that would mean you have an illegal version, as ALL the original files are on the 2 DVD's which the game comes with/in the Download(if Steam/D2D).

get GTA IV american version it will help and buy it from amazon if you are over 17 or under if your under get your mom to get it

So, I just bought the PC version of this. I have all the language files but have no idea how to use them. It is in Russian. I followed some instructions to change the title of russian to american and vice versa which worked great. But after the windows live update it wouldn't work. Switching the names causes the game to stop working all together. Does anyone have advice on how to switch the language as it was intended. I mean why are the files there, yet it is so hard to find information on..
