Mav.
Scarface isn't one of my favourite movies so I'm not too pissed about this remake. I'm actually looking forward to see how it turns out. If say they went ahead with the Casablanca remake starring Madonna like what was being reported, I'd f*cking lose it!
guib
The only reason I will see the new one is out of pure curiosity. And that is what they are trying to accomplish, you watching the new one, they don't care about why you are going to watch it...
Otter
Jesus Christ, you lot can be a bunch of old ladies sometimes. Untwist your knickers; it's not like you're being forcefed anything here. Could be a blast, if done right. Likely won't be.
Slamman
F*cking love Scarface (with Al Pacino)Lol, the most famous quote; Say Hello to my lil' friend! *rapid gunshots* True, but I do think the magic would be impossible to re-create. Hollywood is thinking if you put young actors in a time tested movie story or franchise, it revitalizes itself, and the whole thing is reborn for another decade or so....money money money.. Creed Bratton
No one is touching your favorite movie you silly goose. It's not a sequel, it's a brand new movie. It will not in any way ruin your favorite movie. And by the way, you shouldn't brag about Scarface being your favorite movie.
danjodan
But why? Scarface is perfect the way it is, Doesn't need a remake.Plus, It'snot even that old
Tycek
Simply saying money. They will probably set it in LA with some black or mexican guy as a main character and hip hop music as a soundtrack. The base for that movie is very good, but they will need to make it original and mature. I may see it in the future to see the result.
Mobster124
As long as they make the remake good, then it wouldn't matter. First of all, I haven't seen the 1930's Scareface. All I don't want the remake of the remake to be is samey, from the 1930's or 80's verison as well. I am through looking forward to the film whenever it be made. If you can find it, then you should watch the 1932 version. It's actually fun to make connections between both versions. This video obviously contains spoilers, but you should be able to easily find lines (or very similar ones anyways) that are later said in the 1983 version. [YouTube]ceiWj8oxi8M[YouTube] Too bad the ending is quite lame compared to the 1983 version, but that's because the movie tries to make fun of Al Capone. Anyways, I hope this new film turns out well. However, from what I see today, that's not too likely. This remake probably won't even touch Brian De Palma's version. After all, Brian De Palma is known making some quality films. Not only did he make the 1983 version of Scarface, but he also made The Untouchables and Carlito's Way (both are fantastic films).

The ending to the 1932 version was lame, while the 1983 ending was classic. I hope the Scarface remake turns out good.
