GreatGig
Hi folks, the title says it all really. I've tried all sorts of ways to find out what the song I'm after is called and, rather obviously, I've not had any success. I thought I'd try this because there are a lot of people on here with varied tastes in music so my chances are a bit better. I'll try and describe the video as well as I can. Here goes: From what I can remember, there's a girl walking through a party. I think it's in an apartment or a house. Anyway, as the song goes on she eventually falls through the floor (after smashing it, I think) and ends up in what looks like a tiled room, where the band is playing. There's water all over the shop (pardon the expression). That's all I can really remember of the video. I'm sure the lyrics were about a girl who's a bit of a tit or something along the lines of that. The song is quite "rockish" and may have been on Kerrang at some point. I think it was around about 2003-04 that I saw this. It's been driving me mad all these years. Cheers for reading and I hope you wonderful bunch can help
Slamman
I like "Rockish" songs, and only thing close coming to my mind is RATT.... Their first big hit on the charts, wasn't it? I mean, if it was in Kerrang, think it woulda oughta be?? When I think of black and white tiles in a music vid, this one seems to come to mind Edited November 30, 2011 by Slamman

When I think of black and white tiles in a music vid, this one seems to come to mind I'm afraid it's not them This song was around about 2003-04, I think. It was just after or around the wave of bands like Lostprophets and Hoobastank had come around. Similar sound to them too. If I remember correctly, the singer had a voice similar to that of the chap from Airbourne, quite rough and "shouty". I really must find this song
Slamman
Oh, you said "oldish", kinda up my 70s and 80s alley. I mighta missed it, I remember a girl walks into a party where everyone's in their underwear, was notable for that. It appeared on VH1's Pop Up Video, last I saw it

I think this song I'm after was out around the same time as "The Middle". If there's one thing I want invented before my death, it's a device that can read my mind and find out what this video is. I thought Google would have the answer but I couldn't find anything
Slamman
Yeah, sounds like it. Jimmy Eats World. I don't follow much of the New music simply because it re-treads so much and it just feels bland as hell. Anywho, I tried looking up a distant one via memory by using ASK dot Com and typing out the lyrics, use more then one search engine, heck, see if Dogpile is still around?! Wasn't Ask... AskJeeves way back when?? Sorry I don't have an idea in mind
Tryst
I kinda remember a song by trapted or chevelle that had a video simular to that premise. But your description of his voice doesn't really match those two. Only popular bands I can think of from that era with Airbourne's voice style is kinda sorta Breaking benjamin or 3 Days Grace if you can kinda sorta remember the chorus or verse lyrics it'd help. I've tried Yahoo Answers a few times. Thank you for the help anyway man @ Tryst: Those bands are definitely along the lines with what the kind of vibe it had going on. There was a video for a song by Chevelle that is quite similar to the bit in the tiled room I was talking about. As for the lyrics, I can only vaguely remember it being something along the lines of "mother" and "bottle" lol. They're the only words I can remember. I'm sure it was about a girl that does drugs or something and just keeps getting herself into more sh*t. God damn my awful memory.
Slamman
So in a way, Kerrang is still around?? haha I would remember a stand out video, I watch the COOL Tv channel here, a throwback to MTV of old, they only play music videos There was one I wrote down because it took the movie concept Mr and Mrs. Smith with Brad and Angie and replicated that for the promo video, one of the more enjoyable ones, the song was not the best fit for the visuals, but it stuck in your mind's eye

I don't watch much TV at all let alone music channels. Not in some "I'm making a statement!" kind of way, I'm pretty much deaf and the subtitles on TV are utter crap so most of my time is spent listening to or finding music. The music channels are mostly full of crap I wouldn't waste my time with anyway. From what I've seen, American TV tends to have a lot of adverts in between shows. Do you get that with music channels? Slamman
Mayer Hawthorne, The Walk, that's it! Anyway, hope you get enough clues to find it. I have an audio clip on my YouTube channel still looking for someone to name it for me! I recorded it off FM in the early 1980s, and never could find the band, song, etc.. TheCOOLTV is a new station with the FCC mandated conversion to DTV and HDTV in the states, I just MUTE commercials. For more info on their station, it can be found online, it's really a throwback to true MTV, because MTV is a waste of broadcast space! I can't watch it for more then a minute Edited November 30, 2011 by Slamman
Tryst
yes both Kerrang magazine and Website are still around, and some what respected (as much as any mass produced magazine can be) I don't know about the tv station or the radio. Gig, to be honest I think your describing a Seether song but I've always f*cking hated seether so I can't think of the specific one. I'm still stuck on the thought of Trapted overall being your best bet though. for some reason this video is sticking in my head for your description even though its not really remotly what our describing. To be honest every other song is about a girl and drugs so its a little hard to pinpoint. Art Dela Me-+-Ze Music Le Me

Slamman
Kinda doubt it, and BTW, kids...Leave the room, pretend you didn't see these postings... I think it's a nice twist there at the end. Anywho, notice the Nike Cortez sneakers? I know those aren't you're preferred sneaks, based on your signature. No one falls through a floor though, and I'd submit Joe Walsh's hotel wrecking promo for I can Play that Rock n Roll... for ya, for good measure. Since there is a hole in the floor, in that vid! hahaha Edited November 30, 2011 by Slamman
GreatGig
@ Tryst: I know it's not Seether, the lead singer looks nothing like that tramp. As you may have guessed, I'm not a fan either @ ThePinkFloydSound: Nope it's not that either. Awesome song though. @ Slamman: That video for the Joe Walsh song is the ultimate in cheesiness. Too quite for me to actually hear anything though lol. Cheers for the help anyway guys, much appreciated. If I ever come across any more clues or details I'll give this topic a little bump. Slamman
The Joe Walsh, just need to pump up the volume, dude! The Ratt video and Walsh are the two I recall with something happening around destruction of the set, that and Def Leppard's Pour some Sugar on Me... and perhaps Beastie Boys? There are a few others I can't pin point.
