this is the first video game that made me cry like a pussy.

still, it should've got the Best Story award instead of GOTY. GOTY is for a game with nearly perfect quality, TWD has the best story but the overall quality is not really excellent .

BAM!!! I thought I am the only one not forgetting this game. this game made my summer perfect. it was a mystery how this game didn't receive a single award.

there are still a lot of games out there should've deserved an award too, but you know our beloved VGA: only give awards to games that are mainstream.

Most of the major sites, they reviewed it pretty well, aside from IGN, which is rare as IGN is known to take bribes to rate a game GOTY.

7/10 is not awful.

But at least its a better game then Silent Hill HD Collection.

And oddly, they rated that higher then Resident Evil 6.

HD collection was literally unplayable and konami knew it was broke before it released, which is why they made a day 1 1GB Patch.

I know that. But the fact of the matter is that big gaming reviewers like IGN, Gamespot pretty much give every single really mainstrain game they rate at least an 8 and usually nines and tens, so therefore anything under that can be seen as crap.

Psi Ops the Mindgate Conspiracy is an underrated game.

 

 

 

Not always successful in its execution though it had bags of ambition and was just super fun to play. The game was shockingly overlooked when it was released.

 

In a similar vein and more recently, Vanquish by Platinum Games. A decent critical reception but seems to be underrated and overlooked by the paying punters despite some rather fun game mechanics.

 

Overrated? Most recently, Bastion. It garnered a lot of praise as it was clearly a game that achieved that 'arty' status, ignored however was that it wasn't very good art.

I'm sure it's been mentioned but Metro: 2033 was a very underrated game in the broad sense of the term. It didn't really jump in to the foreground of gaming, popularity-wise. However, nearly everyone I know who's played it, has really adored it for what it is. It's more of a cult classic, I suppose for gamers.

The Walking Dead from last year. It was decent as a storytelling experience, but to say it was better than games like Farcry 3 and Max Payne 3 is absurd.

 

Also, even though I enjoyed it, the original Bioshock was absurdly overrated.

 

Forget about underrated: The Darkness II was a really good game that never really got much attention. Also, Deus Ex: Human Revolution was kinda overshadowed once the holiday season rolled around.

And I said Watch Dogs is overrated because people are literally D-riding a game that's months from release saying it's going to be better than GTA V and the game of the generation when all we have seen are a couple short demos that show off pretty graphics but there is no indication it is going to be a good game. It's graphics whoredom at its finest.

I understand what he's trying to say though. Overrated isn't the word. "Over hyped" perhaps? Everytime there's a new open world game people start saying things like "GTA killer", "R* better watch out" etc. I've seen it so many times over the years and more often than not these games don't reach that sort of level to be a legitmate threat.

Dead Space 3

the reviews aren't praise this game much, but kids who just played this "OMG I JUST PLAYED A PURE SURVIVAL HORROR FIRST TIME EVUR!!" are praise this game like a catholic saw the pope.

DS3 is a good game, but if you compare to the previous games, this game is a disappoint and a finest example of milking and casualization in nowadays gaming.

I'm not saying I'm disappoint about this game because of some invalid arguments on the internet like "coop mode, shooting human ruined the horror,...". no, there is nothing wrong with co-op and shooting people who carry guns, it's just how the story goes. but what wrong with DS3 is it has become a pure monster shooting game, they made the necromorph less scary detail, no more creepy atmosphere and ambient, the "survival" in this game is bullsh*t because the only thing you need is a good gun and sh*t load of ammo. the only thing that keep me play it to the end is the story, otherwise it's a shame of the series and should be the last of the series before EA started to milking it.

you have no idea how many fan opinions got bashed by fools who just started to play the series because they said the game is not as good as the previous (which is true).

If you can't see why a game like that deserves the praise it gets in an industry that sells its products based on how many head shots and explosions you can cause, then you're a moron.

I am still getting the game in May but it didn't get the praise it deserved.

It is a lot like the show and it even has the characters (without their voices from the show) but it didn't sell enough to spawn a second game.

Agreed, I mean where was all the shooting and running around and driving vehicles, cause that's what makes a good game! You had almost no guns and when you did you couldn't even shoot at the wall, LOL!
