Gtaman_92
There will be no news of gta at the vga, if anything there will be new about max payne. I beg to differ, i bet there will be gta news at VGA's. No it wont because R* are right now promoting max payne and max payne only, gta v has just now been revealed a month ago so there will be nothing to show at the vga for it, they cant reveal no major stuff cuz that will spoil everything for max payne. Take all of what i wrote and just stick with it because its more logical.
Ryder 556
Desperately in denial. Dude its not GTA V. PS3 fanboys are some of the most broken gamers. Well some The most broken gamers are the 12 year old 360 fanbois. They are the worst, and most broken fanbois. You can't deny it. And folks, in all actuality, it is 100% possible for GTA V to be a semi-exclusive PS3 game. Like exclusive for 6 months, and all sub sequent DLC exclusive for a month. And even though in my mind I'm having a debate whether or not I want it to be a PS3 exclusive, and I'm leaning to the no side. Although I would like an exclusive game that 360 fanbois will cry about, I wouldn't like the trolls. Exclusives bring trolls, retarded trolls. I don't think anyone wants retarded trolls f*cking sh*t up. And for serious now, I'm pretty sure Agent will have something at the VGA's. Like a teaser with a date(like the GTA V announcement), and I'm sure R* will do something with GTA V at the VGA's. But it wont be an exclusivity reveal. What will it be though? I don't know. It's not MGS5, as that is kind of predictable. Could it be MGS:Rising? Maybe. But I don't like the MGS series, and a lot of people I know don't either. And Rising seems like meh. The only two surprising things I can think of would GTA and CoD, and we know the latter will never happen for the rest of eternity, and GTA is semi-possible, but 99% unlikely. So we'll just have to wait 10 days and find out.
Slamman
And the PC Elitists, some of the most broken gamers I've ever come across!! What part of THIS IS FANBOYISM don't you guys get?? We don't go for that at GTAForums, everyone should be aware, if you own one console, a computer, etc. It's time to buy the other system and a laptop, isn't it??? K^2
Seriously, you might learn something to, the fact that this thread is 50/50 on the idea, half say its possibly half say no, indicates that maybe i have nothing to learn, your a mod thats cool, but it does not give you the right to be rude and arrogant, its a realistic idea and would give sony a real push into the PS3's last 3 years and getting support up for the PS4 and vita, try to pay attention to all replys to this thread, not just the few that agree with you're point of view, thanks. Of course. I mean, majority of people on this forum are industry specialists, and have a great deal of understanding of how exclusive deals are made. I have a great deal to learn from these people. My background in marketing might be crappy, but it's better than that of most people here, seeing how I do have a basic background in economics and finance. That what gives me the right to be arrogant, and to tell you how things are. Nothing gives me a right to be rude, but I usually get away with it anyways. Sony can still use exclusives. PS3 life cycle is far from over. GTA V is not going to be one of these titles. It's far too expensive for mid-life of a platform. People who wanted to play PS3 games already own a PS3. People who will buy a PS3 just for V at this point won't be buying enough PS3 games because of it to make Sony any money. Early in the console's cycle, you're getting exclusives to tip people over from one platform to another. That's where a lot of money is, and where high budget AAA exclusivity deals are made. At mid-life, you're trying to get people to buy a second console, and that doesn't generate anywhere near the same revenue. This is where we see a lot of niche games with smaller budgets going exclusive. GTA V is not one of these games. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.
acmilano
Its probably some of the Sony exclusive games (GOW,Killzone,Resistance,Uncharted) or maybe returning of some old franchise from a PS1 like Syphon Filter or something like that.Probably nothing to do with Rockstar. You can get a decent one at Future shop for like $300. There is no reason not to have one. And can't believe I forgot about PC elitists. Yes PC gaming is the best, for SOME GAMES, but if you have the money to afford a $1,200 custom built gaming desktop that you upgrade on a tri-monthly cycle, then why not spend a few hundred dollars on a PS3 or 360 as well? I agree that Fanboyism is stupid. I'm also aware that the majority of Fanboyism comes from people to young to be able to buy their own stuff. Hazelnot
Well, it would be bullsh*t. Even it was a 360 exclusive it would still be bullsh*t to me (and I'm a 360 owner). So would HL3. I don't wanna buy a PS3 for either. God, I wish I bought a PS3 instead of my 360...
Slamman
It would obviously not be exciting, though it could be shocking, if there was anything exclusive...besides AGENT of course. It was expected like LA NOIRE before, AGENT was found to work on cross-platforms, so expect that within reason as well. I bought both systems, more then once!! K^2
What you say is true, but if there ever was a game that possibly could make many, many 360 only users buy a PS3, would a GTA not be it ? Of course. But most won't buy any more PS3 games. They'll keep playing their 360s. And both Sony and MS make money on game sales, not consoles. Consoles are sold at a loss more often than not. Selling more PS3s to die-hard 360 fans would only generate losses for Sony. So me bringing up the possibility of GTA 5 being an exclusive on PS3 and it being wrong, which i said it might be, means my diploma in finance is a waste, im not sure how you came to that conclusion. Diploma in Finance usually is a waste. Now, if you have Master's in Finance following a Master's in Applied Mathematics, following a BS in Mathematics, that's a different discussion all together. dannyz
I think we might see a small Trailer. All these magazines keep saying they will have info but most come out after the VGA's so maybe Rockstar gave all theses magazines a little bit of info and to tell people they have new info, then they all have a rundown of the new Trailer or they actually got new info about Characters and stuff. TheGreene2010
Rockstar is in full marketing mode for Max Payne 3 so I don't think we will see anything from GTA V at the VGA, and a PS3 exclusive? How can they possibly do a PS3 exclusive for a game that has been multi-platform for about 10 years now, come on leave this BS at the door please. Slamman
Yeah, R* worked hard into a cross-platform engine to realize GTA V as a PS3 only title, yeah dudes, go for it. As funny as some of your comments have been, and hard to take seriously, that's pretty much all that needs to be said. The money was used to support the building of RAGE and Euphoria, it wasn't to support the DLC costs, per se. It might have been, somewhat, but I think the exclusive deals were beneficial for Rockstar, who chose to do them, but again, building the engine ONCE per generation is what's at the heart of the DLC controversy, Now they can make things much faster for the same hardware THIS GENERATION
downthrough
R* would never do that. Think how much money they would loose. R* doesn't ''owe'' anything, to them it's about making a quality product and making as much as they can from it. They Especially wouldn't do it for a GTA title. Actually it has been reported that R* owes Sony $40 Million because Sony invested that amount of money in L.A. Noire before they dropped publishing rights and R* picked them up. Also interestingly there was an interview/preview released before IV were an interviewer was speaking with developers at North and the interviewer stated that certain things that the developers were saying about the development made him believe that development going onward with the franchise would be PS3 exclusive. i search for a link to the article but couldn't find one but it is out their and does exist. Static94
Guys stop getting your panties in a bunch GTA 5 like all GTA previous titles were always exclusive on The PS2 and now recently on the PS3 Like before it will probably be Exclusive for a while , in the mean time they well probably tone down the size of the game into 1 or 2 DVD discs for the 360 since its DVD. Slamman
That's making a pretty big assumption, since LA NOIRE already bowed on Xbox 360 with multiple DVDs, and people expect that to happen for Xbox if it's a matter of too much media for the game's disc system
