A lot of rumours and 'sources' have claimed that GTA 5 info/ trailer will be released at the VGA's, which is not hard to believe, but what Geoff has said and hinted at has got me thinking, he said there will be a “PS3 Exclusive you won’t believe” revealed at this year’s awards, now rockstar owe Sony some sort of exclusive after la noire ended up on both major systems, im not counting agent to be a PS3 exclusive and the fact it seems years away its not worth crediting that its meant to be a PS3 exclusive. Now what if, what if just 2 weks before christmas, GTA 5 was announced that it would be a PS3 exclusive/timed exclusive ? Perfect time to do it. Again this is just me looking at the past at La noire not being an exclusive and rockstar and sony having a 'good' relationship, now i know im adding 2 and 2 and getting 2405, but what if i was right, its not the most farfetched thing that appeared on this forum the past month is it ? Ideas ? UPDATE FOR THE TROLLS: Im not saying GTA was going to be a PS3 exclusive, i was putting the idea out there plus talking about GTA at the VGA's, please don't only read the buts you want to, then hate on people. There's no such thing as a "console seller" these days, so exclusives aren't as valuable as they used to be for third party publishers. I seem to remember Take Two also saying they're only focusing on multi-platform titles now and won't be doing exclusives, but I may be wrong. Although, a serious GTA release probably wouldn't get limited to just one console, not even for a limited time... I can understand DLC's being temporarily exclusive, but a big game like GTAV? Sony would have to have one hell of an expensive deal in place for that! Still, I suppose it's not totally unlikely. Max Payne 3 is like 1000x more likely to have something shown instead of GTA V. Rockstar does not need an awards show like that to build hype for a GTA game. EFLC was stated to be a 360 exclusive, not to mention LCS and VCS, so by your logic R* "owes" microsoft 4 exclusive GTA episodes. Also, do you really believe that anyone in 2011 in their right mind would pass up on half of their profit on some Bro-tier relationship? I didn't think so. Also, it's been said, but GTA doesn't need to be at major gaming events, just look at the last statement they made. You my friend, are wrong, Microsofts gta dlc was ALWAYS slated as a timed exclusive, they just never announced how long the timing was, and la noire was meant to be a ps3 exclusive, here is a quote from a member of team bondi. "The project is wholly funded by Sony Computer Entertainment America. It isn't clear from the wikipedia page, but what probably happened is Team Bondi, the devs made an agreement with Sony, while Take Two/Rockstar as shareholders realized it doesn't worth for them financially and have pressure over Bondi (no publisher no game) so the agreement between Sony and Bondi had to be broken. Considering LA Noire isn't even as big as a franchise as GTA, I don't see any exclusive title to either of the consoles. Sorry, but that s more than unrealistic. The whole development of GTA IV cost approximately 100 million $. And every 6 months again 50 million $ would be too expensive for Sony. Imagine that there will be the final time for Playstation 3. Marketing actions like you ve suggested makes only sense for new upcoming consoles / platforms. Sony would not get it for free, cash would be involved. Cash has nothing to do with the number of SALES, Sales are when an individual buys one copy not how much the copy sells for. If R* makes the game an exclusive to 1 console SALES will fall no matter how much money sony gives because you have cut away millions of potential sales. But MGS is predictable and not exciting is it ? its easily believable, GTA 5 on the other hand now, just wanted people to think, that was all.
