JoeC_123 Posted November 29, 2011 Share Posted November 29, 2011 Hey guys, this is my first time doing this so please be patient, I bought GTA complete pack from steam from steam the other day and patiently waited for the 40gb of files to download and they all ran fine except when I play GTA IV and crash in a car or punch someone. The game runs fine if I don't do this but when I do the screen goes black, the sound loops and the only way I can do anything is if I use task manager to shut down my pc (and even then it gets to "shutting down ..." and stays there until I hold down the power button). When I turn it back on everything is fine but I don't know why it's doing it because my pc runs battlefield 3 fine. The same thing also happens when I crash in Burnout Paradise and I have tried to unistall and reinstall both games and nothing changes. All drivers and games are up to date. Any ideas guys? mkey82 Posted November 30, 2011 Share Posted November 30, 2011 If you get system hangs often, then you'll have to check various things - installed software, drivers, malware etc. Start by doing a CCleaner run and scan with some AV software, like MBAM. mkey82 Posted December 1, 2011 Share Posted December 1, 2011 Your problems are most probably not GTA related and you can look online (you're free to start here https://www.google.com/search?q=windows+7+hangs ) for fixes but what I recommend is getting your data in order, backing up savegames, passwords, bookmarks and whatnot and do a fresh OS installation.
