Ptretr
I'm thinking of buying a new laptop and I want to run Gta 4 on it. But I need help deciding what laptop should I take. Laptop's specs: AMD Athlon II X2 P340 2.2 GHz 8 GB DDR3 1066 MHz Radeon HD 6650M, 1024 MB DDR3 OR Intel Core i5-2430M 2.4 GHz 4 GB DDR3 1333 MHz NVIDIA GeForce GT 520MX 1 GB Please help me decide which is better to run Gta 4. Exxon
Neither are good, the first one has a slow processor which will barely or even not play IV. The second one has a pretty processor, but a bad videocard. What's your budget?
JayManikanta
Hey Ptretr : Both the laptop's u choose are a very good deal for playing Gta 4........but if I were u I would obviously choose core i5 with GeForce GT 520MX nd u also nee to know tht....the latest patch for gta 4 (1.0.7.0)'s benchmark statistics (roughly for a laptop): CPU 100%, ram 64% and gpu 66%....nd u cannot max the settings !! Ptretr
I don't have budget. I just need to pick on of these. And P340 can run gta
Exxon
I don't have budget. I just need to pick on of these. And P340 can run gta 4 98% of video's on YouTube are fake, you simply cannot run IV on high, just forget about max, settings on both laptops. IV just works like that, you'll have to accept you'll need a way better laptop for that. Besides, my specs are better than both laptops and I can't even run it on high. Ptretr
My friend's laptop specs are i3 2310m and gt 520m and he can run gta 4 on medium with 30+ FPS and shadows on. So I believe these two can run it on medium definitely and maybe even on high.
Exxon
Listen my friend, it's just how IV works. The i5 2310m is a pretty CPU, but sometimes IV is all about luck, seriously. Medium settings might be reachable (especially when OC'ing the GPU), but not high. Just accept it.

Ptretr
Ok guys, will take your word. Thanks for replying. But which one should I take then? Edited November 29, 2011 by Ptretr
Exxon
If you know more laptops in your price range, you can show them and we'll say which is the best But from the two in your first post, the one with the Intel Core i3 2310M is the best one. The video card isn't very good, but OC'ing it should help with 2 or 3 frames I gues. Please keep an eye on the temperatures when OC'ing though. Exxon, I'm correcting you because it's i5 2340 not i3 2310, but thank you for your help. If I get any updates about laptop's I'll post it. And if I buy one of these I'll post here how it runs Gta 4 too. Bye for now.

friendly luggage
Look for a laptop with at least 4GB ram, a second generation i5 (ends in 2340 etc four digit numbers) and a nvidia GT 540M. Have a look at some Dell XPS's or something
Stinky12
Laptops aren't meant for gaming as for the most part as their components are half than their desktops. If you want a gaming laptop just look for ones that has starts with a Core i5 or better a Core i7 and a find one with the best graphic card you can get. Note that laptop GTX560m is not the same as a desktop GTX560 Mobile processors are also not the same as their desktops. e.g. mobile Core i5 are not quad cores they're dual core with HT. Only desktop Core i5* are quad cores. * Desktop Core i5 600 series running on 1156 are dual cores. GTX560M: 192 CUDA cores/VRAM @ 1.2GHz GDDR5/192bit/memory bandwidth up to 60GB/s GTX560: 336 CUDA cores/1GB @ 2.0-2.2GHz GDDR5/256bit/memory bandwidth up to 128GB/s VRAM= the amount the laptop makers like to put in so it varies. I strongly suggest you get a desktop.
