go to run and type in dxdiag then show us what it says on the display tab so we can find out exactly what graphics card you have in your computer. i cant show you how to do it exactly because im on a mac at the moment.

and i think what you're referring to is "pixel shader 2.0", most of the time a game which asks for this won't run on a graphics card without it.

What game exactly?

Chances are, since you have an Intel on-board card that it will only run at the very lowest settings if it will even run at all.

Um... the game name cricket power 2011. The pictures are awsome because of it's graphics. Do you think my laptop will play it? confused.gif

It might, but don't get your hopes up.

An on-board Intel videocard is meant for all things which are not related to gaming.

In one line: it's just about the worst videocard you can have, it's crap at games.

It's pixel shader 2.0 not pixel shard. You sure that box isn't slapped on with some cut off label print like those you see on bootleg DVDs?

Most modern video card you buy right now supports higher than Pixel Shader 2.0

And Core i3 onboard graphics isn't meant for gaming.

With a sufficient PSU and room in your case you can take a look at

GTX460 and up

HD6700 series and up

Oh, i guess it won't work. Ok, what's the cost of Pixel Sharder 2.0? (in dollars or any currency in your country)

Sorry, the card is Intel ® HD Graphics (Core i3). So will my game play? confused.gif

I have the same, It's the early iteration of Intel's combined GPU and CPU core in the central processor. The intent is supporting true HD video like BluRay , if the motherboard supports an HDMI out, as mine does.

For gaming, it's proposed you also have a plug in card, PCI Express variety. You could run older games, like San An on i3 or i5

For a laptop, you'll have to check harder for graphic card options, if there are any. You might be stuck, check the Intel matching games for HD link on their site as well..

Intel's i7 will now support some HD GPU according to this...

It is Pixel Shader 2.0 perhaps, but that's entirely compatible with your newer CPU, For Shader model 3 and 4, you'll need a gaming graphics card, It will require you defeat the processer Integrated video from the BIOS settings (it reverses the same way)

If you can, detail the CPU model, mine is for the 1156 socket, 2010 board, vintage. Already superseded with new Intel tech.

550, or 560 is what I think I got, paying basically list price for the CPU
