Yes, we all know by now that one of the characters displayed in the trailer looks a bit like Ned Kelly or whats-his-name. But here´s what I´m thinking. What if all the characters in the trailer are the previous protagonists? And does the protagonist neccesarily have to be revieled in the first trailer? I know that some of my hypothesis is made up of fragments from points made in other posts, but please read the whole thing before spamming this thread with ATU bullsh*t about things you´ve heard before or that this isnt a new find. blahblah. So, lets say we have this ned kelly-looking specimen here: Fine. So he looks a bit like some fairly unknown, out-of-a-job actor, BUT DOESN´T HE ALSO LOOK A BIT LIKE THIS MAN? And wasn´t he the voice- actor for Tommy Vercetti? So, using the same argument as for this Ned, this can, in theory, be the remodeled, 25 or so years older version of Tommy Vercetti, yes? Now, i´m not suggesting that he´s the protagonist of this game (although it would be awesome to play a coked-up, washed out, middle- aged version of mr. Vercetti trying to build up his empire on the West Coast. A mix-up between Scarface and Entourage´s Ari Gold(!)) Even better if we can watch him from the sideline with his new struggles, and maybe to run some errands for him , or in the case of robberies, alongside him.... On the other hand, I do think it´s rational to think that characters from previous games kan still have cameos in new installments, like they did in the past. If it fits the story and the setting. When R* said that they were moving in another direction with GTA IV, i think it made sense to build up new characters with personality, that belonged in the city, so that they could run their little world up there for a little while. BUT THEY NEVER SAID THEY HAD PULLED THE KILL-SWITCH. Now, without me bothering to post the pictures of them, the same could be said about the guy in ithe tanktop running from the police (must at least be related to CJ) and the beggar version of what might be Roman or Niko. Maybe some of the bankrobbers have the last name McCreary? To sum up, I would like to add some closing points about the difference in GTA IV and top dollar five. Number one, when Rockstar amped the level of realism with IV, they had to give themselves some space because they knew they were making a different kind of game, and also had the opportunity to find new and interesting types of characters that were larger-than-life in a different way from what we had seen before. Ken rosenberg in New york 2008? Not believeable. LOVE Fist? Come on. A spoilt Saudi prince with a gold Uzi and a Jay-z wannabe? much better. But that´s what so great about a game about the pursuit of the almighty dollar set in Los Santos. Winewood is crazier than ever, and will gladly give shelter to all our former heroes and zeros. No amount of wishing on your part is going to make Tommy Vercetti the lead in V! He had his moment in the sun(no pun intended) its done its over its finished! And that man he is supposed to look like doesn´t seem hispanic to me. Funny though, that even though at the very top of my post i warn you to read the whole thing before spamming with bs, some of you didn´t even manage to comprehend that I spesifically wrote it is improbable that Tommy be the lead.. Heard the theories, and yeah, there could be some small chance of Tommy Vercetti in there, I played the closing theme to Vice City from the PC version, you hear Tommy and Ken Rosenberg talking about the beginning of a beautiful relationship, however, that's the end of where the plotting takes you. I haven't played all the games to conclusion, but with the PC version's audio files separate, you don't even need to play the whole game to HEAR how it ends! haha Should add in seriousness, the caricature looks to me like Mel Gibson, and since Gibson won't reprise Mad Max, he should reprise someone in GTA to be as cool as Hell again!!
