First Person View

Hello,

 

I have bought GTA IV last weekend from steam. I started playing and realised I hate the way the camera works.

 

I was delighted to discover a first person mod mentioned on these forums. However I have had trouble getting it to work.

 

I made the mistake of following guides on old threads on this forum which google dug up, for example threads which told me to run a magic patcher and I also tried to use an old version of the first person mod, not realising there was a 1.2 version. I have had two downloads and installs of GTAIV already, the first time I thought I might have damaged the install, because first person would not appear in the game, and the second time I managed to break the game entirely.

 

I shall be sure to make a backup of the entire GTAIV folder this time. However I would like some confirmation on which files to download and where to put them so I know exactly what I am doing.

 

As I understand it I need to replace the filelist.pak file with the one contained within this zip file:

And I then need to download the FirstPersonV1.22.zip from this thread and extract it to the GTAIV folder:

Then all that is required is V in game, and then I have first person mode.

You skipped a step:

 

This is an ASI mod so needs an ASI loader to function.

There are a few ASI loaders to choose from:

YAASIL

Alexander Blade's ASI Loader

Xliveless

 

Also, I recommend backing up any game files that you edit or replace. It shouldn't be necessary to back up the entire game folder.

Alexander Blade's ASI Loader said it was not compatible with my version (1.0.7.0).

 

Anyway I got first person view working by extracting the below into my GTAIV folder:

 

• xliveless - v0.999b7 (patch 1.0.7.0. and EFLC 1.1.2.0)

• GTAIVScriptHook_0.5.1_Redist

• FirstPersonV1.22
