@ShakingAss you a map dev? I LOLed at that... you dont even know how to make a LODs. you cant seriously call yourself a map dev unless you can make scratch made models. I saw your AC convertions. the only credit you can get is being a map converter. you shouldnt think about that stupid boundary thingy because you havent even shown what you can do. 6000*6000 map space is enough for a single person

@Nk I think one of the reason that GTAForums dosent allow those kind of mods is that maybe some people from other game companies check the forum and if they see a contain from their game they might sue the site and Rockstar games(for theft)

Edit: They allow GTA games to get cross converted this way. GTA3/sa/vc>>>IV but not backwards EFLC>>>IV("cause it will affect sales") Im surprised GTA San andreas:liberty city is still open(last time vans and them tried it got closed)

Ok I can understand that. But for EFLC Map Updates, wouldnt you think that mod would make people want to buy EFLC? I was porting the map, which isnt that different from the original map.

 

But give ShakingASS a break. He's new to GIMS, she has to learn how to use all the features, unlike Random or Blaster who learned them gradually as they were added.

I lol'd, you, map dev? you ain't made a thing from scratch in your LIFE. All i've seen is some crappy conversions which i've seen like over 6 times. Developing isn't converting, developing is making. You can't even make textures either, do you remember from earlier in this topic? Your 'road' texture looked like it was made by a newly born child, using the worst painting program ever, you also called it a test, no way can a TEST look that way, learn what stuff means and is before you act like your pro at it. So please, shut the F up, you little twit.

You know Nk, porting NFS The Run map or any other game's map is equivalent to stealing the property off of the company that produced it.

I don't understand why you two don't understand it's not meant to port random games to GTA? (or port GTA to another non-R* engine for that matter)

 

One does not simply port games over to another devs game engine, we would get LC in CryEngine, AC in Rage engine, SA in Skyrim, WoW in Rage engine and I could think of some more bad game combinations.

 

 

How do you think R* would look at this forum if it was allowed to convert every game?

 

How do you think R* would feel if they see screenshots of other game devs their maps in RAGE ?

 

If you ask me, if you do this, you have no respect for R* and you would give them reaons to make GTA V even be harder to mod.

 

 

Name me any mod from any game that has a ported GTA city..Right, there is none, because GTA is meant to be played only and ONLY on a R* engine.

 

 

And about your map updates, nk, your copying files over from eflc to iv. If people want these files, they should buy EFLC. Because EFLC is the newer game. It surprised me that mods didn't lock that LC in SA mod.

Another thing, these conversions are simply allowed, because R* allows it.

R* could contact gtaforums staff right now and say they are against it, then it is over and out for us*

Converting stuff from other games is stealing, not your property and credit or not doesn't change anything to the situation.

 

*Us being IVSA, Rage Team (VCR) and GTA3 HD team.

The PS Vita keybord sucks. I men't he.

 

Also I'm not talking about wholl game TC's. I'm talking about using objects for a mod that could have nothing to do with the game. For example. In EFTW, I think a few of the cars were ported from NFS. Doesnt mean EFTW was supposed to be a full NFS to GTA IV.

In my opnion, that grass looks very bad and unnatural, the stock procedural materials look alot better.

Yea, we could make grass that fits SA, or even original grass like the original game had. It will definitly add ALOT more detail to the country side.

I m agree with idea to add to map the grass and more plants from gta 4 but not gta sa grass and plants -is a f**kin sh*t -pillars with sh*t instead of branchs

Hey Blaster, im having some personal problems here and i will enter the forums 95% less on the week, if eveythng runs well i can return my normal 'life' but if not , the chances of i entering on the internet are only on saturdays and sundays

 

Thats the price of not waking up 6 AM to go to the doctor

Yes and on my end even the eflc version's gta.dat was empty. And also R* doesn't check files anymore, simply if you mod, you'll be put on the modders server (where like 90% of the people are), also dw about spawning points, Idc if it spawns me in the water, I'll just use airbreak to go to the map.

Anyway yes please pack your files in a winrar, if you tested it and it works for you (without using the mod). I'd really appreciate it.

I agree, and also you'd get a rediculous amount of texture bug, since I get the texture bug with vanilla IV, and a few car mods, and I also heard people are getting texture bug with only IVSA, so putting them together, you'd be driving on air all the time, since textures wouldn't load.

Seriously we need a IV Limiter just like we had for SA back then. It took away at least 10 fps, but it was freaking worth it, no texture bug happened after that in SA. (I think the name was SA Limiter)

No, V will have bigger bounds, but u can't transfer them to IV, it's deeply coded in the exe, hard to understand.

 

This whole bounds thing is stupid anyway, why would u prop every city in one game ? i mean serioiusly, WWWHYYYYYY?

 

It will not work timecyc-wise, you can't focus on one atmosphere, which character would u play with etc.

 

 

 

Distantlight is nothing but issues, 80% of the time it's disappearing, the lights are white, while most of SA is yellow.

Only advantages were the lod cars.

Thats why you would mod on GTA V, and not GTA IV. (Bigger bounds, probaly usefull features like more realistic planes, much better graphics and lighting effects, ect). Puting each city in one game is cool, however people should edit them so they all fit the same time period, and if possable they should be a long distance appart. ECS is doing that (exept the maps are placed diferently, but it still gives the same effect as if they were in one game). I'm sure if the GTA United team could place the city's far appart, they would, based on the fact that there is no bridge connecting the two maps. SOL is different, because they want it to be one big map you can drive around.

 

I never get disapearings and the lights color is like that in LC's map too.

 

However, I noticed some Lod bugs on the new map that will help you guys out and the Vice City Rage team. I noticed all the lods and normal models load at the same time. When I fly in a heli I experiance the same bull sh*t crash. My guss is too many things are being loaded at once causing crashing issues.

The cargrp still has IV cars spawing. Ill fix that soon. (minus the police cars, but we should get those ported for the release, along with ambulance and fire truck.) Id like to not have any IV cars spawning in this beta for those who chose to have the IV SA cars (if they have that choice). Kinda like how VCR did their cars.

Is it possible to create region-specific paths so we don't get lots of wacky cars everywhere? I think some of the exotic cars don't even normally spawn in SA's traffic but are everywhere in IV:SA, and those should be pre-made car spawning points. Also, what's up with having traffic in Grove Street? Really, enjoying watching this mod though, SA with euphoria and all the RAGE perks is awesome.

That is possible but mod teams don't care for some reason. I asked both IVSA and VCRage's team members about car zones and it wasn't of interest to them.

At this point it really doesnt matter. Maybe we may do it once, and if there is ped paths. Hope there is. IV's LC is the only map where driving on the side walk is fun, and not just a way to bypass traffic. devil.gif Lol, I don't drive on the side walk all the time though.

 

But there may be a point where we would do this. IV SA is one mod that would need it the most because SA has cop cars for each city. Unless we just make a SA cop car that shows up accross the wholl state.

GTA V is even not announced for PC. It even not announced for any platform.

I know it will uses RAGE engine. But the file formats will be very differed.

I can say that because I saw resources of all other RAGE games. And in each next game formats changes.

And if they made a decision to use "RDR Like" map system (without any IPL, IDE, etc), GTA V will stay without map modding.

The thought of that makes me die a little inside sad.gif. We should start a petition for mod support on GTA V PC, in case they're already developing it. Probably wouldn't make a difference, but worth a shot.

Nah, GTA is too big to be left undiscovered. I bet ya, the first day it comes out on PC , however the setup becomes for the map, people will work hard and get it done eventually, i'm sure of it. If RDR was on PC, it would be same, but it's not so blame it on Rockstar for that.

 

That's not saying that an SDK which i wanted for years now wouldn't be great for V. I'd love it if Rockstar released V with it.

In any case, they will add something to the PC version, perhaps video editor again.
