It would be very helpfully to get, the startup.sco source code, from the BETA 2! Cause i want contnue from there wink.gif

 

And just for the record: The sco posibillites are still very limited. Just because there is a high level compiler, doesn't this mean that all sco researsch is complete. Even scm from san andreas ist not fully resaerched... In sco standart functions are missing, like path creating for actors... Mission coding and cutscene would be very hard under this circumstances!

Can somebody repost that SRT3 tutorial Blaster made for Beta 1? I can't find it.

Because we applied shaders in LS roads it will not work.

Ofcourse it could work on SF and LV.

Is there any simple way of working around this? I appreciate the work you've done with the LS roads in beta2, but I'd prefer to use SRT3 textures for videos and screenshots. I've tried installing beta1 again but it seems you guys have done something to prevent the installation of older versions because it keeps redirecting me to the gtaivsa website. sad.gif

Yes, we did that on purpose, because it was a bad beta.

 

Till blitz allows me to make a srt version, there is nothing i can do. sad.gif

I'm going to try installing it on beta2 just for the SF and LV textures then. Is there anything I need to do differently for installation, or is it the same as beta1?

Why just programmers? I think you need more people, make free inviting to db (copy) and they will come to you.

Yes and on my end even the eflc version's gta.dat was empty. And also R* doesn't check files anymore, simply if you mod, you'll be put on the modders server (where like 90% of the people are), also dw about spawning points, Idc if it spawns me in the water, I'll just use airbreak to go to the map.

Anyway yes please pack your files in a winrar, if you tested it and it works for you (without using the mod). I'd really appreciate it.

If you wan't map mod only, I could see us doing it when boundries are hackable and we can place it next to LC. I'm sure many people would love to do that.

However, our tests indicate otherwise; no matter how you place the map object(s) outside the 6000x6000 zone the engine will just not render it, i am not sure about collision though but theoretically it probably won't work neither.

 

If an detour for this occurs, paths can be inserted by using external scripts

Maybe but he did say about tweaking some files you should test that method he said.Yes the paths are a problem.

Placing SA next to LC is not a very good idea anyway, it are 2 very different maps (west side and east side..)

Lets think for a second forget the LC to SA thing we could make maps beyond the limits.

You can barely support the gigantic work load from a conversion

Stuff and you are asking to make 6000x6000+ scratch made maps?

 

Dont get me wrong but R* needed 6 years with a full building of modelers/artists to complete a kind of decent

NY replica using 4 or 8 more texture maps than the ones we manage to understand

 

I would focus my azz on mastering the unknown maps

And making something inside those 6000x6000 instead of asking for more

Perhaps if the bounds were cracked, the SOL team can start their work on the Rage engine. That mod would be sweet on the Rage engine. Not only that, but I think they said that if they can hack the bounds, they will add the map, meaning they keep LC, and add the SOL map.

 

Edit: If were hacking the bounds SA can be placed far from LC. And when thats possable, it might be possable to get GTA III's map and VC in there too.

 

Don't say its not possable. It took alot of research to get it done on Vice City, and it is possable on IV. Only problem is patch compatability. GTA IV and EFLC. Newest patches should be first priority.

 

Also yes, it took Rockstar a while to make the models. Thats why when I make maps, I use models from games so they have dev quality, and because I'm lazy but wan't a good quality map.

 

One of the many reasons why GTAForums should remove that stuped, annoying, pointless rule of no converting models from other games.

Oh no, I ported a bulding from AC. I was going to buy AC so I can look at the bulding days on end, but it was ported to GTA IV so I don't need to buy AC, I can just look at the bulding in GTA. (sarcasm) Yet the GTA Liberty City mod (great mod) could convince people not to buy GTA III.

Well because I can go in the clubs in GTA IV, I'm not going to buy EFLC, which I would buy for the missons, and not the extra buldings that take a few seconds to explore.

 

If you retextured the models and didnt say anything, they would never know.

 

I wonder if mods have been closed, but the person made the models them selvs, but the admin felt they were ported.

 

But for IV SA, Ill port the new map to EFLC soon. I'm enjoying the PS Vita right now. biggrin.gif Hopefully I can make it work nicely like EFTW.

@ShakingAss you a map dev? I LOLed at that... you dont even know how to make a LODs. you cant seriously call yourself a map dev unless you can make scratch made models. I saw your AC convertions. the only credit you can get is being a map converter. you shouldnt think about that stupid boundary thingy because you havent even shown what you can do. 6000*6000 map space is enough for a single person

I can make maps i just never studied the lods that's all nothing wrong with that.

@ShakingAss you do know that LODS can be made by simple boxes,planes and etc.(you have to do it by scratch) you dont even have to study that haha. if you meant importing them to IV well gims can help you do that.

You don't get it i know what a damn lod is and i tryed on GIMS just forget it.Doesn't make sense how lod manager in GIMS is SA was easier to do.

Ok I can understand that. But for EFLC Map Updates, wouldnt you think that mod would make people want to buy EFLC? I was porting the map, which isnt that different from the original map.

 

But give ShakingASS a break. He's new to GIMS, she has to learn how to use all the features, unlike Random or Blaster who learned them gradually as they were added.

@Nk well maybe because theyre exclusive to EFLC or something.. I learned gims as it updates as well its just Im too lazy to do something big.. I have this thing inside me telling to make a big mod but I have this cant be bothered feeling as well.
