As far as I know, it's part of the radio script, thus only playing in a vehicle.

Looking great. I have a great idea for the launcher so people don't have to mess with their saves. (As IVSA has saving now) We should allow the user to specify where they want their save games to be stored.

 

Edit: Now that gang war script has the ability to trigger by killing 3 gang members just like SA.

We got to find a way to get the script running in IV SA. I have an account at that website but it says my password is wrong. I hate when sites glitch like that. Can't even get a recover email. But if I can get back in, I could PM him and ask him to help make the script for IVSA. I could also get the garage mod too.

I just looked at the many links they had for the Gang war script, and the garage script and I have great news.

 

-The gang war script has the source with the download.

-If you click on the mediafire link for the garage mod, there is a link where you can download the files for the PC version.

Question: For EFLC can the enhanced button load it so the DLC fails and it loads IV? Then they will access MP and everyone will enjoy MP. My idea is quite simple. EFLC enhanced button, makes EFLC load the DLC from a location that doesn't exist. This will make the game fail and load GTA IV. As the launcher is like this, I think this will work fine. EFLC just needs to use the same gta.dat, and two files from IV in the config folder. sounds.dat15, and game.dat16 are needed from GTA IV.

 

But basically to lay it out:

1. Classic button loads DLC data from the mods folder. This runs on TBOGT.

2. Enhanced button loads DLC data from a location that doesn't exist. It fails and loads GTA IV.

 

I have it set up so if the buttons change the DLC directory in this way, they both work. This would be easy. No extra file changes for EFLC. Only what ever file changes you have for IV are needed. This way both versions have support. The EFLC users will be able to get into IV's MP and we will have more people to play with.

 

Edit: As for the garage mod. His PC scripts don't seem to work right for the garage. The icons show up on the radar, but the menu doesn't stay open. I don't know how to get the loader to work on IV SA. The option to get in the loader doesn't appear, but I'm sure that can be fixed. Anyway I got the menu working on the normal IV. I'll get my account working on psx-scene, and I'll contact the scripts creator so he can fix the bug. The garage script is its own script, and seperate scripts make the locations to access it, or the button combo. So I'll ask him to try and fix the issue, and also make a garage spot for CJ's garage.

But as you can see, the mod manager is working on normal IV. On IV SA the menu option doesn't appear in the phone. You need it to enable the garage mod, however it can still be changed to load automatically.

If it's easy, I can build it in, but then you need to give me instructions on how to (e.g. Rename gta.dat to gta_disabled.dat, etc.)

 

When it's built in: Why not load Classic as IV either? When I make DLC, I make it install in e.g. pc\data\maps. It isn't possible (without too much hassle) to add EFLC detection to install it in TBOGT\pc\data\maps.

 

As for saving, it's currently not working yet. And otherwise it uses the game's natives to save, so the location would be the same.

Hey, just joining the discussion here. Love the mod, keep it up! Last time I used it though the traffic drove really sucky haha. No offence . Mod is epic, always will be. Keep the best work up!

Better don't if it's offtopic. There's enough mess on the V section and people aren't blind not to see what's going on regarding V there.

Good news today: In every GTA IV\EFLC global modifications, including IVSA beta 2,  traffic is limited to 10 different types of vehicles. I researched how this limit was set and I found ways to extend the limit. IV:SA3 will have 50 different types of cars and motorcycles riding across San Andreas.

 

This will also be the case in uncoming projects, VCHD & 3RC

Well with your launcher you said you made it so EFLC would read the DLC from the IVSA directory. The enhanced button makes the DLC be read from a different spot where the folders are not there.

 

The other way to do it is to rename the DLC folders TLAD and TBoGT to TLAD_disabled and TBoGT_disabled.

 

To sum that all up, we want EFLC to be able to read the DLC folders when you click classic, and we dont want it to be able to read them when we click enhanced. (Gtaa.dat renaming may be needed. Ill let you know if it will be needed).

Though, are you sure renaming the folders will work? The last time I removed the TLAD folder to only support TBOGT, the game crashed when loading TBOGT. Weird cross references.

When I said DLC, I meant the TLAD and TBOGT folders. It will be fine. There are two audio config files from IV that will be needed. With out them, the game crashes.

Root:/pc/audio/config/

-GAME.DAT16

-SOUNDS.DAT15

 

Now, there is a bug that I don't know how to patch but it isn't an issue. When you change radio stations with the default radio, the game crashes. However, because we have the normal radio disabled, and use the radio plug in, it won't be an issue.

 

Now to do this you must sign in to Games For Windows Live. Otherwise you will sit in a black screen. But there is a simple task to fix it. The requirement for the user is common sense. We need to add in the intro for the enhanced version a message that says "Please make sure your signed in to your Games For Windows Live profile before pressing play.".

 

When they hit play with the Enhanced version, a message appears that says "Downloadable content not found. Start a new game of Grand Theft Auto Episodes From Liberty City?". As this is an error message and its coming up intentionally, we need to edit it so its a welcome message that says something like one of the following.

"Enjoy Grand Theft Auto IV: San Andreas Enhanced Edition"

"Enjoy Grand Theft Auto IV: San Andreas"

"Enjoy Grand Theft Auto IV: San Andreas Beta 3"

"Enjoy your stay in San Andreas"

"After 5 years on the east cost, it was time to come home." (This one would be cool.)

"Press (A/ENTER BUTTON/KEY ICON) to continue.

They need to use the Home key on the key board, or the guide button if they have an Xbox 360 controller.

 

As for the black screen, if your signed in, and hit start you will get the message, then when you press enter, it will start GTA IV. If your not signed in and hit start, it will just sit in a black screen.

To sum that up, if a black screen happens, it happens right when you hit start and only if your not signed in.

 

Maybe the help text in the intro could say "Please make sure your signed in to your Games For Windows Live profile before pressing play. You can acess the guide by pressing the Home Key, or the guide button if you have an Xbox 360 game pad. It doesn't matter which play button you press.". Now it may be possible to make it so you have to press enter/A on controller when you read the text.

 

Edit: Also GTA IV save games don't matter for this. When it fails and loads IV, it always loads a new game.
