[WIP] IV:SA³ 'World Enhancement'

Got new autopilot code running. It does everything the old code did out of the box, and with some tweaks, I should be able to fix a few issues I was having. In addition, I've added thrust vectoring into it, so I should be able to make it run with Hydra. How well that will work remains to be seen, since I haven't installed the Beta3 files yet.

I think, I'm almost done with the core code. Rest will be just polishing everything to get realistic behavior for each aircraft.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

Nice. I hope all the peramiters are configurable in an ini. The Ghostown mod and the World Trade Center mod need your script. Both mods you can't fly high enough to get over the island in Ghostown, and in IV and TLAD you can't land on the WTC roof.

no need to quote the whole post, do you know what the fast reply function is?

There have been multiple gtaf previously banned members named heron, you seemed like another duplicate account made by the pbm.

Well you can ask him instead of calling him a thief though, that is my opinion on this. smile.gif

That reminds me that someone did that to me once on the cheatsync forums where my username was apparently similar to a previous member from years ago that screwed them over. rolleyes.gif Then the entire forum went after me and got me screwed for no reason, made me think how silly they were by banning me because of username similarities. orly.gif

Anyways, its good to hear that there are codes being done for aircrafts. BTW, does the autopilot mean like how I am taking it to be? Meaning it can hold altitude, heading, freeze climb and decent rate ect?

Well your work on IV SA ether increase your chances or decrease them.

Working with it shows your kowledge of their software and talent working with it. However they may not like you hacking their game.

But glad you guys are now cool with eachother and having fun on MSN rather than arguing.

Don't be fooled, i don't even have access to IV:SA DB, after having so much done for the mod he trolls me and doesn't give access cus he says he wants to be "boss".

He's just lucky i don't care all this much as it's just a damn mod, if i did there would be severe consequences

That part we had some fun, but rest is 90% arguing

But why can't i join it? It says invite is not valid, it just smells like you're trolling again or something?! If not, i'm sorry to offend u [case of invite/instant kick scenario is very likely though , at least in my opinion]

Still , as i spent a year working on this with you, i deseve access, modding or not modding. If you still do not want me to be there , i'm fine but it's just keeping a bigger distance bettween me and you

I hope we resolve it this time.

Yes. The whole idea is to make it available to other teams. IVSA simply happens to be the best test platform for it at the moment.

By the way, I still have an 80m/s speed limit, despite applying external thrust. Any idea where that comes from, and if it can be disabled?

P.S. Height limit is definitely not an issue. Just did some testing, and I can do at least 2x the height of Mt. Chilad. Then the map starts to glitch. So limiting factor isn't how high the airplane goes, it's how far up the camera can be located.

That's cool, as long as we can embed it into IV:SA3

Shouldn't be a problem. I just hope I can finish everything by then.

Hey just wanted to know are you coding in c format or c++ format?

If your using c, send me the source. I will be able to port your script to sco and make it work on Xbox 360 and PS3. (I'd like to have it on there too.)

It's the flight script by K^2, it's currently in debug/testing mode so yes, for now it has to until it's ready.

I don't think it works like that. orly.gif

For that to work, K^2 would have to write his script using %100 sco commands.

Feel free to remove Flight.asi if you're not using it. That will get rid of the text.

Lol.

But to answer your question. No. If we get proper tools so we can work with the Xbox model format then it would be yes, but the team may not support it. However 3rd party modders may port it.

As this mods file size is smaller than the normal Xbox 360 version, it wouldn't be an issue. However in order to do it on Xbox we would have to rearrange the files so they go in the LC IMG files as you can't change the IMG names around due to the files going in an ISO. You have to keep the ISO the same size. It wouldn't be as big of a problem though if it was ported to the PS3 version though as the files are in a folder so the current file arrangement can stay. If the files get cracked as they are on the PC version, I think this mod may get better performance on the Xbox 360 and/or PS3 than the PC. It would be far easier to optamize the game too. However I don't think many of the other team members would want to support the mods compatibility for Xbox 360 and PS3.

However the console version of the mod would not have:

-Simple Native Trainer (other script mods for sco could be used instead)

-All the asi scripts. (No SA radio, SA hud, no flight physics script. All would have to be ported to the sco format.)

-Console version wouldn't be able to be released on gtaforums.com. It would have to be on gtaconsolemods.com, thetechgame.com, psx-scene.com and se7ensins.com.

-Ability to just install nicely. On Xbox 360 you would have to download a GTA IV or EFLC iso file, replace all the files by hand (data files are in rpfs), and ether own an xkey, or take appart their Xbox and hotswap with their normal game. On PS3 however its a different story. They would have to jailbreak their PS3. We could do a manual installation, but on PS3 we could have a PKG installer to auto install the mod.

-PC may have MP support later, but we definitly won't have Multiplayer on the consoles.

Consoles gain the same things that the normal console games gain.

-Better optimization

-No graphics bugs

-If installed right, its a little more garanteed to work.

-No need for a high end PC that can run the game with good graphics settings at a decent frame rate. A lot more people have the game on the console than the PC.

In my oppinion the PS3 version would have more than the Xbox 360 version including:

-Keeping the Beta 3 File layout.

-Installer which would make some peoples lives easier.

However there won't be a console version because I doubt the team will want to support Xbox 360 and/or PS3, and the file formats for the console versions have not been cracked yet. Only texture files and map placement files. (no custom models) The PC version would still have more features, but I would like a console version too.

A long story short:

Xbox = not meant for modding.

PC = Modding platform.

Long story short:

Xbox 360: Not ment for modding but moddable. tounge.gif Perhaps Rockstar should of encrypted their files. However they did that on the PS3 version of EFLC.

PC: Ment for modding (not 100%) and easier to mod. (more mods and easier acess to the files)

But yes I like PC better but I don't hate consoles, and I like modding on consoles too. I even mod GTA III on the mobile. However the gaming experiance is much better on the PC. (Console lovers don't give me that crap about I hate the keyboard and I like the bigger screen. Simple. Get a VGA cable, or HDMI cable for your PC, and get a gaming controller.)

But back on topic. I just wanted to ask, how come you guys desable the seabed? It prevents the edges of the models from being visable along the shore.

Lol. I play on both. I just hate when people hate on PC gaming.
