Hello, I've been checking out this mod.

As far as car handlings and models.

 

Will I be able to use GTAIVs handling and physics with gta sa default and custom vehicles?

Will I be able to use both GTAIV and GTA SA vehicles in game?

Of course , if you edit the files yourself .

But in the mod there will be SA hanling and SA cars not IV combined .

The only thing I will say though is that IV's map does have a smaller model scale than the III era maps.

 

But I seriously hope GTA V's map is even bigger than SA.

Any chance that Fly-US 747 can be converted into a drivable vehicle? Call it AT-500, or something, since AT-400 was the 737. Would be fun to fly.

I don't think handling has been change compared to Beta 2 so if you liked Beta 2 handling you will like Beta 3 handling .

are the handling for the cars be arcade or IV style?

I think your confusing handling.dat file with the actual game driving mechanics. Driving mechanics are untouched, as they are buid into the engine.

What are they???

GTAIV or GTASA mechanics??

 

As far as acceleration and body roll?

Transmission shifting?

 

Also engine sounds?

 

Does the rage engine audio have the same limitations as GTAIV?

 

Where we are very limited on changing engine sounds because the the wav formats?

Just by reading what said Blaster, it will have GTAIV mechanisms since it is under Rage Engine, but they're replacing the sounds of the vehicles. And if GTAIV had limitations, since this mod uses the same engine, it may have the same limitations?

I wonder for how much R* sells RAGE, i'd buy the friggin thing and do things my own freaking way, but no , not possible.

To sum up they can tweak vehicle values such as speed but can't touch what is related to physics, that's it? As this is hardcoded in engine and no one but R* has access to it, since they coded it.

Why do you want physics change ? It's SA to RAGE ENGINE .

This is GTA IV/EFLC not SA. Mods like cars, weapons, ENB Series from IV/EFLC work on this mod.

Turns out, the latest version of Motion in Joy drivers lets me run my PS3 controller in 360 controller emulation mode, so that's what I'm going to be working with next. I'm going to add 360 controller support to the flight script. It will work with other controllers as well, but that's the default I'm aiming for, since that's probably what most people are using with IV.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

Thanks for the tip. I use a PS2 to PS3 adapter to play with my PS1 controller on my PC for ePSXe, will try this software for the games which support 360 controller smile.gif

I was thinking that we could give the planes helicopter handling, but use scripts to push the plane forward, and make the heli altitude increase not do anything.

 

Reasons why this should work.

1. If you use speed up on the trainer, you can fly a heli as if it were a plane. The flight physics seem better too.

2. The heli blades can be used to make propellers.

3. Guns and rockets on planes.

4. This method can break the height limit. (which means the script can be used to customize the height limit.)

5. May make use for the Hydra hover, to fly transition.

 

With a few touches I think it would work. What do you think?

Why? I have full physics simulation running without any trouble. Now, it might be worth using helis as a base just for the weapons, but I'd set all of the heli parameters to zero either way. I wouldn't be using any part of heli controls for the airplanes. It's all custom.

 

What I'm talking about is purely visual stuff. The ailerons and elevators on Shamal look like they were done by a person who never seen an airplane. I don't want to be mean to whoever it was, but they are just all kinds of wrong. It'd be nice to have them re-done, because I'm planning to make use of them to make visual effects match what actually goes into simulation.
