i can understand that, but if it means your mode is just 1 step forward from being perfect it's worth doing.

I agree. Traffic going the wrong direction has been discussed to death, and isn't going to be fixed. But why not fix what CAN be fixed? Groups of cars where they don't belong looks really tacky, and takes away from that original SA feel.

My theory is because some tasks are boring and some tasks are amusing to the team. Paths is boring to the team and they agree that it is just fine right now and not a major problem as the map. I don't blame the team for not working on paths because I in their position would do the same. They need recruits to help, a couple of modders is not going to cut it as San Andreas map is huge.

Might just be my training from my old job affecting me, but that cable arrangement for the telephone wires is terrible! it doesn't make sense, Rockstar just threw them around at random, they don't even connect to any houses! tounge.gif

Because i'm not part of the team, because i didn't take on the task of doing something like this. And because i don't know how to do it. Why did i say what i said before? because apparently it's easy for them to fix it, it's simply "boring"

I think removing paths at the airport and on dirt roads out in the country side (that are not normally driven on) shouldn't be too hard. However I know of a way to do it but a bug it will cause.

 

The World Trade Center mod deleted the paths around the WTC so they wouldn't be driving in the plaza. Deleting the whole paths file should fix the airport ones. I bet they are in their own file. However a bug this causes as I've seen with the World Trade Center Mod is when you go into the lobby in MP, you can't start the game. You can hit the button as many times as you like but the game just won't start.

 

@Garju67: Do you mean SMAA or FXAA? It would be cool to have real AA in the game. I think I may know how to do it with out ENB using the method ENB does. Use commandline.txt to force the game to run at a higher resolution than your monitor, and it will get down sampled. Start menus and loading screens will show the upper left hand corner of the screen, but once the game loads up it looks much smoother. Uses a lot of FPS though. I have not tried the command line method I'm thinking may work, but Ive used ENB Series AA and it was laggy on my PC. Game was technically running at 4x my resolution.

I don't get all the "it shouldn't be hard" "it will be impossible" replies. If these paths are custom-made, added by THEM, what's the problem in removing?

 

Nope, not trying to complain about the fact they still are here, I'm just surprised by some of the replies.

Nope, not trying to complain about the fact they still are here, I'm just surprised by some of the replies.

That's the thing, they weren't really custom, they were converted straight from SA IPL files but because SA and IV file structure for paths differ , it made no use to re-use the same flags for the traffic flow in IV, and really the only way to make decent traffic patterns is to re-create , that is re-draw the splines as they are in SA and configure each and every vertice on different road types, intersecion, junction and more... Not only that, but the car groups need to be set for vehicles to drive, ex. LS Vinewood area luxury sedans, sportscars, limos etc. , Ganton lowriders, gang cars and such, well you get the idea

Don't you guys think that re-creation of these paths by just the two of us(me and Blaster) is a bit too much? I mean, it's nothing to do with missinformation or lack of skill , it's the amount which turns the whole thing into plain slavery work

@Garju : You know GTA IV's water looks better on low settings then on high settings right? On high settings it is too exact. Too many small pieces, it looks sh*t tbh. Low water settings look way better.

Fine. I was referring only to removing several paths though, using any of the tools which could render the paths on 2d map (is there any though?).

 

Anyway, I never modded paths, so some of their stuff is unknown to me, so I might just shut up tounge.gif
