WreckageGTA
I remembered playing GTA IV and sometimes after video-editing or coming out from an interior by "teleporting", I have missing textures and my only temporary fix is to pause the game and wait for a few minutes until the textures are back. Here's my system requirements: - CPU: Intel® Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz - CPU Speed: 3.7 GHz Performance Rated at: 12.95 GHz - RAM: 3.5GB - OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 32-bit - Graphic Card: GeForce GTX 550 Ti v 285.62 (latest version) Good specs to play this game. Just seems to don't understand why there are missing textures. Any permanent fix I could try? Images of my own: I sent emails to Rockstar Support. Top is the latest. Here it is: Hello. Right now, I need another SIMPLE solution. MSCONFIG almost killed my computer. still having textures both GTA IV and EFLC (seperate discs). Look at it on the attachment (EFLC) [attachment - images above this post]. Please get this fix by adding a patch on both games. My specifications are: Intel® Core™ i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz- RAM: 3.5GB Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 32-bit GeForce GTX 550 Ti v285.62 (latest version) please make a patch so that disappointed users having the same glitch will be happier. if not, you just lost a customer. I tried solutions like updating video drive, reinstalling the game and some third-party solutions like using "commandlist.txt", adding -memrestrict (bumber) and install CacheBoost. Every solution doesn't work for me. Feeling sad still. Love the game. Here is a topic from GTAForums raised about my issues with missing textures: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=494025 I attached two images to show you the glitch (both during I played a mission with no modifications). .Olbricht.
You're not missing any textures, more appropriately, you're experiencing texture pop-in. you can refer to this. However, what I did was use the 'memrestrict' command with the value based on the texture quality I set in-game. Look at this: -memrestrict 188743680 LOW TEXTURES (256M Video Cards)-memrestrict 209715200 -memrestrict 230686720 -memrestrict 262144000 MED TEXTURES (512M Video Cards) -memrestrict 293601280 -memrestrict 314572800 -memrestrict 629145600 HIGH TEXTURES (1Gig+ Video Cards) -memrestrict 650117120 -memrestrict 681574400 Hope that helped. Does meg refers to megabytes of RAM? And do I need to copy "-memrestrict [number]" on the command window (press ` key)? EDIT: Missing textures/texture pop-in I experience is this: found it on some forum, user has the same issue as mine. WreckageGTA
http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=458859 Will try. EDIT: Doesn't work though. I added commandline.txt and edited it with only this: -memrestrict 1073741824 "1073741824" is 1024 (1024MB graphic card memory)x1024x1024 Still having invisible/missing textures. mkey82
Usually this happens on low spec hardware and most of the time it can be fixed by using memrestrict. In your case neither claim holds its ground, sadly. You can try changing a few GPU driver versions, maybe that can nudge things in the right direction. In your case neither claim holds its ground, sadly. Well, my computer is a gaming one. It is high and good to play GTA IV. But I quite don't understand. Last time, when I play GTA IV, there's no crappy glitches like these always. Then after a series of repairs, I installed the game and found out that every 10 minutes I play, I get the glitch. I consider playing EFLC (since it doesn't get affected) or other games like Saints Row. Quite disappointed about Rockstar, just hope won't happen to GTA V. .Olbricht.
Try switching your GTA IV version (not EFLC) from 1.07 to 1.04 and older. Believe me, the latest patch is really bugged as far as I'm concerned. I think I spent ages trying to find the right commandline to stop the consistent and annoying texture pop-in issue. If you don't have that kind of patience, just try switching patches and see if that works for you.
mkey82
On where what? I don't understand. Write "-benchmark" where you wrote "-memrestrict xxxx" before.

lydianduck
reinstallation takes exactly 8 minutes. With patch 4 you won't have this problem 10000% guaranteed but do what you want.
WreckageGTA
quickreply: I noticed that maybe I have to add more RAM (more GBs) and upgrade my graphical card. I am going to try: - set everything medium and view and distance detail to 20 - add more RAM - upgrade graphical card - set program compatibility to Windows Vista (SP1) or Windows XP (SP3) [those OS are the system requirements] - just wait for GTA V to release (which means abandon GTA IV - loved that game Wish me luck guys. shicoe30
I tried to do that, but it it said it was missing RGSC.exe. I searched for a solution and it appears that I'd need a CD install, and seeing as I got it from Steam, I'm up sh*t creek.
