SPMovies
Used to be the biggest CoD player, the series has been complete sh*t since MW2. CoD4 was the best, and CoD2 was pretty damn good too. MW2 changed the series and the way it's played. Too many noobish things now with horrible perk balance(Maps have also been made for campers now)
Carbine23
Call of Duty 2 - Campaign was okay but not as good as others. Are you high?! It's clearly one of the best campaigns of the series, in my opinion it IS the best. It lasted long, high replayability, sometimes different experiences replaying a mission, intense, variety, & polished perfectly
Gtaman_92
I think they f*cked up big time with black ops 2. Why would they set it in the future? It would make sense to have it set in the last years of vietnam in the 70s and then another war in the 80s. If they do a black ops 3 what period would they set it in? 2038? I think treyarch fail big time with this one.

Have you ever asked someone who doesn't play games at all, what games they know. They'll say "Call Of Duty" and "GTA".

Sgt. Foley
Is it me, or do the aircraft in the BO2 trailers look like they belong to S.T.A.G in Saints Row: The Third? EXAMPLE: S.T.A.G Condor: S.T.A.G F-69 VTOL: S.T.A.G Spector (on the right, F-69 VTOL on the left.)
Guest
I'll pass this one. Doesn't seem like anythings changed apart from aesthetic stuff like guns and maps... Just the same but covered up with 'futuristic things' I miss the old Cod4 days... Can't remember if it was annualized around the CoD4 times, but I loved that game. it was fun and simple, and very addictive with balanced gameplay. But since they just didn't add much, I've been put off it... It's just lost it's 'charm' and is now 'just another game'... Maps are built around campers and are terribly laid out, there's like 100 guns but at the end of the day they are all pretty much the same, just a different skin, and it's just been turned into a cash cow... Sorry for the rant...
cas-97
I think every mature gamers wish is that they could go back to when 12 year olds didn't know what CoD is. I don't understand why all these people just care about Multiplayer. When Black Ops 2 was announced i told a friend of mine and he asked already about Multiplayer and i'm just thinking WTF! Has no one ever heard of a Campaign or Spec Ops or anything that isn't Multiplayer?

BullworthAcademy
Butters, I found this as well. http://manatank.com/2011/12/05/call-duty-9...t-staff-wanted/ Shocking we know, but Call of Duty 9 is already beginning the development cycle, with recent postings on jobs boards looking for new staff members to join the Treyarch team. Treyarch is currently searching for game scripters, who may be asked to take “a design test utilising Call of Duty mod tools” as well as other listing detailing that applicants will be working on combat systems and gameplay mechanics. The next entry in the series will be Call of Duty 9 and, as it stands, little is known about the title or what form it will take. You can guarantee it won’t be another Modern Warfare title though, as Treyarch generally handle the release of the Call of Duty game the year after Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare is released. Personally, I’m going to go out on a limb and predict it will be some kind of sequel to Black Ops. The game was relatively well received and gives Treyarch a franchise of their own to work with and hopefully outshine the massively popular Modern Warfare series. Of course it was inevitable the next COD would be coming – but what are you hoping for the future of the franchise? Were you content with Modern Warfare or do you want something more? Tell us in the comments Call of duty 9 is Modern Warfare 3.Anyway,I just got Black Ops.

sublimelabs
I just found out that Trent Reznor is doing the music for this, and that got me on board. I've always wanted Trent Reznor to compose for a video game. His work in movies is fantastic. Regarding the game itself, I'm glad that they're actually being ambitious this time around. Some of the voice-overs are bad, but overall it looks like a fun time.

Most people like to bitch and whine that COD is the same game every year, then when they change it up and actually do something different, everyone complains and says it is stupid. ANyone else think this is contradictory?

But even if you're not a fan of the franchise, you gotta hand it to them -- a science-fiction CoD, Trent Reznor doing the soundtrack, less linear gameplay? The graphical engine may not be top-notch, but they're certainly tinkering with the insides.

kid23455
All the hate aside, the COD series has been "Alright" since MW2, but it's just your typical first-person shooter with absolutely nothing special about it. It doesn't deserve ALL the hate it gets, but things like not innovating and the sh*t graphics are correct. BLOPS 2's campaign looks okay, maybe. Maybe I'll get it at Redbox for $1.50, beat it, and be done with it, because they sure as hell haven't gotten me interested at all in the multiplayer. Mainly because COD multiplayer is just downright terrible. I understand what it's for, the Football playing weed smoking "Jock" of this generation, too cool to understand what a good video game is, and able to do well occasionally in the multiplayer with absolutely no skill. No teamwork, no tactics, and it's not a "duel" (being whoever's the better shot based-shooter). Edited August 7, 2012 by kid23455
